Maud Drennan is a dedicated caretaker, but her sunny, capable disposition and snappy quips mask a deep sadness. A tragic childhood event left her in the company of a cast of patron saints who pop in and out of her life like unwelcome tourists. She tries to find solace in her hard work in London...but then she meets the inimitable Mr. Flood. A menace by all accounts, Cathal Flood is a widower living alone in a Gothic Dorset mansion crawling with collector's items and feral cats.

Incredible detail in the story line, well done. As a horseman, it tears at the heart while being completely authentic.

Would you try another book from Sue Grafton and/or Judy Kaye?

Very sad, the dialog was totally predictable. Judy Kaye's portrayal of Kinsey was not engaging.

What could Sue Grafton have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

RIP

Would you be willing to try another one of Judy Kaye’s performances?

No.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

It is the end of her series, I think perhaps it could have been more carefully edited.
