I got this and another by this author as part of my Kindle Unlimited. Pretty good mystery, surprising ending that I didn't guess halfway through but the narrator was terrible. Over pronunciation and no inflection at times. I was going to give up but I saw the second book isn't by the same narrator so I forged ahead.

It fascinates me how the British did in fact keep that stiff upper lip in the face of the disaster of the Blitz. By the end, I was sad to say goodbye to Emmie/Isabel but glad the mystery was solved.

Having worked in antisubmarine warfare for the Navy, I was especially interested in this book. Except the part about Naval testing off Cape Hatteras, Delaware. I live in Delaware and it's Cape Henlopen, Delaware. I don't know what is in the printed book but I have to question what exactly is the job description of editors these days?

Otherwise, a fascinating listen.
