I love how the narrator uses different voices for the various characters. I can picture the story unfolding like a movie in my head. I wish I had tissues many times during the story as I could emphasize with the characters.

The short chapters are suspenseful and keep you wanting to read more. The author makes you care about the characters. An icing recipe at the end is a bonus and fitting end to the story.
