Merry Gentry pretends to be human. She moved to Los Angeles and began working as a private investigator at Grey's Detective Agency. But all of this is just a disguise; in fact she is a princess of faerie, her real name is Meredith Nic Essus, and she had to flee the Dark Court of Faerie because of attempts on her life. In order to inherit her rightful crown, Merry needed to conceive an heir, a notoriously difficult task for the slow-reproducing Fey. In the 2009 novel Divine Misdemeanors, Merry had finally achieved that goal - and fans have been kept waiting all this time to find out what happens!

Too many European accents for American characters. I found it irritating when "Ivy" was pronounced "Evie" yet when the narrator described the character she pronounced the name "Ivy". Not an unpleasant voice, just not a fit for this book, in my opinion.

I enjoyed all the stories, Simon R. Green's was a bit over the top but true to the style of the series.
My only less than good experience was with Gayle Hendrix's narration. I found the male voice she uses would be excellent for Westerns....but not for the stories she narrated. Just did not care for her work.

Heralded as an instant classic of fantasy literature, Maguire has written a wonderfully imaginative retelling of The Wizard of Oz told from the Wicked Witch's point of view. More than just a fairy tale for adults, Wicked is a meditation on the nature of good and evil.

I love the world of Oz. I had heard a lot of buzz about the musical "Wicked" so was interested in the concept of "from the Wicked Witch's side". I have started this twice and between the boring voice and the storyline that I just can not begin to get interested in I have not been able to get past the first few chapters. Not worth the time or credit, in my opinion.

These tales represent seven of Carl East’s more popular paranormal erotic stories: “The Haunting of Annabelle” in which a young woman is visited at night by an amorous ghost. “Room 13” where a middle-aged woman has an incredible sexual dream, but is it a dream. “Ariel’s Last Mission” involves a female alien who is on a mission to find out why humans enjoy sex so much.

As for returning I did not look into the possibility soon enough so my own fault on that score. Oh well, wish there was a way to delete it permanently from my library.

I had been wondering about the final 3 characters in the Hell's Eight series as they are very side line mentions in the first novels. Not that engaged with them even now. This felt more like "well, I did say eight so I have to deliver...."

The narrator really did NOT help. Her efforts at doing a male voice = FAIL.
They all sounded terrible. I would have preferred she just read the story as her speaking voice was pleasant.

I hope the next Hell's Eight character gives Ms. McCarty a more catching story to present.

It’s all about the blood…Comprised of three novellas, Blood Lust gives listeners a snapshot look at the world of the Preternaturals Series.... As a cat therian (shifter), Greta’s blood is already sought after to enhance spells and potions, but due to a quirk of her birth, her blood is potent enough to kill for. When her tribe plans to sacrifice her, Greta must ally herself with Dayne, the dangerous local sorcerer, and the only person strong enough to protect her.
