My son and I LOVED this story! Brendan Fraser was an amazing narrator who brought the story and characters to life. Can't wait to listen to the service book.

Growing up in the shadows cast by two world wars, Annabelle has lived a mostly quiet, steady life in her small Pennsylvania town. Until the day new student Betty Glengarry walks into her class. Betty quickly reveals herself to be cruel and manipulative, and while her bullying seems isolated at first, things quickly escalate, and reclusive World War I veteran Toby becomes a target of her attacks. While others have always seen Toby's strangeness, Annabelle knows only kindness.

They were so many times I didn't want to reach my destination so that I could keep listening. A reminder that we don't really know people by how they look or always what they say - or don't say.

The voices did a good job. It was nice to have a male perform the male parts and a female perform the female parts, though some readers do an awesome job with both. The story kept me coming back. You can skip the last chapter though, at least with the music it didn't seem to fit the rest of the book. The only time there was music was when it was getting "exciting", that took me awhile to get used to.

My 7yo son and I loved it. It started some great conversations about how we treat others allowing others to 'feed' off of us.
