We're in the middle of an epidemic of average. So-called "normal" people get up every day, go to work, do what's asked of them, leave promptly at five, and return home to sit on the couch and watch TV. Society tells us that this is what it means to lead a balanced life. Don't stress too much or work too hard. Your career isn't everything. But Grant Cardone thinks this preoccupation with balance has really just given an excuse to be mediocre.

I’ve listened to tons of personal development type books. So many so, that I began to find them a waste of time. They all spit out the same stuff, delivered by some professional narrator that has no where near the same energy and passion as the entrepreneur that the book talks about. I love that GC read it himself. That energy and passion I get from him makes me realize I haven’t wanted success bad enough in the past. I haven’t been nearly obsessed enough, and hearing GCs story is super inspiring. Great book. He gives it straight and walks the walk himself. Thanks for the good book Grant.

This book is amazing. Such a great story of heroism, grit, determination, and belonging. The narrator is perhaps the best I've heard, with the perfect cadence and tone while reading to fully draw the listener in. The ending is especially great, the way he ties in the greatness of "the greatest generation" as they are known, those unassuming rowers and hundreds of thousands of boys just like them coming into Germany to hunt Hitler down and save the world. Everyone should listen to this book.

I even learned a lot that I can apply to parenting my children. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is in any form, a leader, teacher, parent, or any form of influence or who wishes to be. Even the "lowest man on the totem pole" should apply these principles, as by doing so, he or she would not remain "low" for long.

KISS did not become one of the most successful rock bands in history by accident. Awesome life story. Loved hearing about his drive, innovation, and path to finding success and hustling to make money when he was young. He lost me a little with his views on timing family around business success, but he has valid points, and everyone can create their life how they want. And you will have an easier time becoming successful without juggling family in the mix. But it all depends on perspective and what each person wants their life to be like. Great book, motivating, encouraging.

A buddy of mine once said "sometimes, to do the right thing, you have to offend someone." You look at Elon, Jobs, even Trump and they all are a little abrasive, a little too "in your face" quite often. I am beginning to realize that this is a necessary and good quality of a successful leader. Never a jerk for the heck of it, but holding people totally accountable for work assigned, etc gets the job done. And if someone isn't pulling their weight - gone. I'm just amazed at the technology those companies are creating. Not just Elon, he is brilliant but couldn't get all the work done without hiring the best minds available. But dang, what a role model. Great job Ashlee too. Very good book, well researched and good angles on the stories. And great job Fred, excellent narration. Really kept me gripped.
