I was disappointed with the book ‘Jake’ but Loved everything about Quintus story. Not only was the storyline intriguing but Kym Grosso took the extra steps of having male & female narrators then had the female read the female parts & male read male parts AS IT SHOULD BE. It made the story come to life.

I couldn’t force myself to listen to the entire collection but skipped thru the drinking & sex scenes. What should have been 1 book was drawn out into 5. If anyone drank as much as the characters in this book they would be in rehab. It was a good plot & sub plot but just way to many of the same drinking & sex scenes then an anti climatic ending.

I had listened & returned this before & when I got the ‘romance’ package I thought I’d give it another try since I couldn’t remember why I had returned it..sadly now I know. Loved the book & I really wanted to love the audio version but the narration just ruined it for me. All the women’s voices sounded the same (Shiori, Fi & Katy all had same accent even though they were supposed to be Japanese, Latin & US accents). Knox voice was good but again all the men started sound big the same. The publishers really dropped the ball when hiring the narrators.

I loved reading the book & hesitated to listen to it since so many times the vocals ruin the story. I'm so glad I did. As with all of Cherise Sinclair books the BDSM adds instead of overpowering the story line. And the choice of male & female vocals gives you the feeling of really being there with the characters. Of coarse the HEA doesn't hurt either 😊

I was really excited to finally get to hear Sierra's story but it was long winded and at times I wondered about the direction. For example, the parts about Boone meeting his father & Sierra's mothers bridal shower/wedding seemed more fluff than any real contribution.
Still unsure about the narrators...they are good but not great. I can't understand why if you hire 2 narrators that you have the the man trying to speak women's voices & vice versa. It just comes out sounding lame. Like many of Ms.James books the chapters switch between the 2 main characters but IMO Sierra should always sound like Sierra, not like Sierra in one chapter and a man in falsetto in the next chapter.

Love the mastered series & this story didn't fail. But considering there were 2 narrators having the male narrator talk all parts in 1 chapter then the next chapter having the female narrator talk parts was distracting. If the narrators had gotten together (the female doing womens parts & male doing mens parts) it would have been 100% better to listen to. Sending this back & buying the book.
