Every day, we face a growing epidemic of stress, one that is damaging our physical and emotional health at younger and younger ages. Billionaire CEOs, moms managing households, college students, people of every race, age, and income all make the same confession: "I am so stressed." It is literally killing us. While there is no one single cure, there is a simple practice that dramatically changes how we respond to stress and life's challenges: the Transcendental Meditation technique.

I was under the impression that I had purchased an audible guided meditation book, this is not what I had wanted. This book is an infomercial full of name dropping. It’s a never ending testimonial for the real product that you’ll need to pay $960.00 for...a Mantra that only a trained TM guide can issue is just the starting price for this pyramid cult. They’ll continue to ask for more money when you don’t get the meditative results that are promised in this infomercial.

This was my second attempt at a book by Chabon, clearly I misunderstood the most recent novel so I attempted to escape into Summerland.
Unfortunately for me; escape I could not. The book opens with a fairly off-putting disclaimer of sorts. The author seems to be justifying or apologizing for what he's about to attempt...the best I can say, is that Chabon is weaving baseball folklore with Norse mythology, at some point he brings up the Schrödinger's Paradox of the cat in the box. The true paradox that I'm left with is; did Chabon write his disclaimer before or after he wrote this novel, either way the cat in the box was dead for me.

Located off a desolate stretch of Interstate 50, Desperation, Nevada, has few connections with the rest of the world. It is a place, though, where the seams between worlds are thin. And it is a place where several travelers are abducted by Collie Entragian, the maniacal police officer of Desperation. Entragian uses various ploys for the abductions, from an arrest for drug possession to "rescuing" a family from a nonexistent gunman.

Would you try another book from Stephen King and/or Stephen King?

Not sure what happened here. This one got off to an ok start, then came off the rails bit by bit.
