Littleport, Maine, has always felt like two separate towns: an ideal vacation enclave for the wealthy, whose summer homes line the coastline; and a simple harbor community for the year-round residents whose livelihoods rely on service to the visitors. Typically, fierce friendships never develop between a local and a summer girl - but that’s just what happens with visitor Avery Greer and Littleport resident Sadie Loman. Each summer for almost a decade, the girls are inseparable - until Sadie is found dead. Avery can’t help but feel there are those in the community who blame her.

This seemed compelling at first, but after the first hour it became disjointed, repetitive and boring.
The narration was terrible.
They definitely need a less child-like narrator with a more expressive voice.

Full of cliches and as stilted and saccharine as can be, this story was the worst I’ve listened to in two years.

In this intimate, haunting, literary memoir read by the author, an American icon tells her story for the first time, in her own gorgeous words - about a challenging and lonely childhood, the craft that helped her find her voice, and a powerful emotional legacy that shaped her journey as a daughter and a mother.

In Pieces surprised me. It was rich in descriptive memory and both sensitive, often humorous and always insightful. An in-depth look into the life of Sally Field. I loved it.

What a surprise.
I stumbled across this Audible selection and am so glad that I did.
I can’t stop thinking about this book. Would have given it ten stars if I could.

New Yorkers Michael, a famous writer, and Lizzie, a journalist, travel to Italy with their friends from Maine - Finn; his wife, Taylor; and their daughter, Snow. "From the beginning," says Taylor, "it was a conspiracy for Lizzie and Finn to be together." In Rashomon style, with alternating points of view, the characters expose and stumble upon lies and infidelities past and present.

Once I started listening to this jewel of a story I could not stop. Set in Italy, it is a feast for the senses and has a thoroughly addictive plot line. Never wanted it to end.
