I was able to finish this book - so it wasn't horrible but it wasn't good either. The Narrator's pronunciation of "Baby" grated on my nerves. It is supposed to be a term of endearment but she made it sound like an accusation.

If you could sum up No Coming Back in three words, what would they be?
I was SURE I knew the main answer within an hour of listening....and I DID but...
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
The plot did NOT keep me on the edge of my seat initially but the last few chapters sure did in spades!
Any additional comments?
I really enjoyed this listen. I don't often give audio books 5 stars but this one TOTALLY sucked me in at the end. Just like the plot twists of some of my favorite movies (like 6th Sense...Saw, etc). I LOVE original ideas. (if this wasn't original. please suggest others)

What do you do when you wake up to a whole new life…with dangerous urges you can't control? Medic Drake McKennan has never been good at following protocol, so she doesn't think twice about rendering emergency care when a teenager's life is at stake - even if the young girl is in the throes of Were fever and any sane human should know better. It isn't the bright shining pain of the bite or even the wrenching agonies of the fever that convinces Drake everything in her life has changed.

Porn - and bad porn at that
Reviewed: 01-04-16
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Focus more on the story and less on the sexual encounters. I like a good sex scene as much as the next person but this was just porn for porn's sake. There was no build up to any of the scenes.
Has The Midnight Hunt: Midnight Hunters, Book 1 turned you off from other books in this genre?
no
What three words best describe Maxine Mitchell’s performance?
she was fine
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Midnight Hunt: Midnight Hunters, Book 1?
I would cut ALL the sex scenes, rewrite a few and sprinkle them in as opposed to drowning the story with them.
Any additional comments?
I am returning this book.

Is there anything you would change about this book?
I LOVE horror and I also LOVE thrillers. I just found the goings on in this book too implausible to be believable. It had it's suspenseful moments but most of the time I would groan inwardly at the outcome of each interaction.
What about Gary Tiedemann’s performance did you like?
The performance was what made me give an overall 3.
Was Bad Games worth the listening time?

The Jungle is the story of Jurgis Rudkus, a Slavic immigrant who marries frail Ona Lukoszaite and seeks security and happiness as a workman in the Chicago stockyards. Once there, he is abused by foremen, his meager savings are filched by real estate sharks, and at every turn he is plagued by the misfortunes arising from poverty, poor working conditions, and disease. Finally, in accordance with Sinclair’s own creed, Rudkus turns to socialism as a way out.

I was forced to read this book in High School and I hated it. Listening to it 30 years later made me realize exactly why I hated it then and LOVE it now. I was too young to "get it" then and also too young to care. The story is classic, the narrator wonderful, the ending?... meh.

What aspect of Frank Muller’s performance would you have changed?
The only thing that stopped me from giving this book a full 4 stars was the narrator, Frank Muller. His narration was delivered in such an affected manner it was ridiculous and almost unreadable.
