Professor Theo Cray is trained to see patterns where others see chaos. So when mutilated bodies found deep in the Montana woods leave the cops searching blindly for clues, Theo sees something they missed. Something unnatural. Something only he can stop. As a computational biologist, Theo is more familiar with digital code and microbes than the dark arts of forensic sleuthing. But a field trip to Montana suddenly lands him in the middle of an investigation into the bloody killing of one of his former students.

FBI analyst Kassidy Bishop is assigned to the "'For You' Killer" task force after a series of sadistic murders bearing the same signature arise in different parts of the country. The homicides are both calculated and savage, occurring in different states, but bearing the same signature: the words "for you" scribbled at each crime scene. The case chills Kassidy, bringing back memories of her own encounter with a violent criminal five years earlier.

I enjoyed this book. It was different. It had twists and turns and held my attention. I thought the narrator was excellent. Her tone was on the soft spoken side and expressed each character differently. It was really nice. I hope to hear a lot more from her.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Ugggg

Would you ever listen to anything by Nele Neuhaus again?

Not after this.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Pronunciation of names slurred. Jumped into chapters too quickly.

What character would you cut from The Ice Queen?

None. And there were so many with so many long foreign names how could one keep track? And for this situation.gel, easy to figure out in the beginning plot?

Any additional comments?

I bought her first books but can see she's trying to get too complicated and pretentious so. Never again! If they'll take it back I'll return it.

What did you love best about A Thin Dark Line?

Everything

What other book might you compare A Thin Dark Line to and why?

None

What about Karen Peakes’s performance did you like?

One of the best. I usually don't like female narrators but I would listen to anything Karen Peake did in the future. She's on a par with the best!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I couldn't put it down. It had a bit of everything.

Any additional comments?

The writing was great and it had plenty twists and turns. The main characters were exceptional. I hope she makes a series out of these two main characters.
