Great book, awful narrator

Worst Narrator EVER!
Talk about a bad narrator totally ruining a great story! I'm only on chapter 7 and am forcing myself to finish listening. I read the book years ago, and I loved the story. Text-to-speech would be a better performance than this. I think the other books in this series were outstanding in terms of narration. The male/female voices were not always perfect, but were very good and didn't take away from the story at all. Not so this one. The voices are pretty much the same. The forceful male characters sound like petulant little girls. Read this one and skip the audio version.

The first in a sexy new series by Katy Evans, New York Times best-selling author of the REAL series... This is the story I’ve been waiting for all my life, and its name is Malcolm Kyle Preston Logan Saint. Don’t be fooled by that last name, though. There’s nothing holy about the man except the hell his parties raise. The hottest entrepreneur Chicago has ever known, he’s a man’s man with too much money to spend and too many women vying for his attention.
OMG!!! Another cliffhanger? C'Mon!

10 Hours of Freaking Internal Dialogue!
I should have read the Audible reviews for this book instead of the ones on Goodreads. OMG, I didn't think it would EVER end! And it ended on a freaking cliffhanger. I was excited to start listening to it, because it had such wonderful ratings in book form. Maybe it's my age....I'm 51, so I figure I'm way past the target audience. But still, I've read some other new adult books and enjoyed them. But this?
First of all, I wasn't expecting first person present narration. I could have lived with that. It was the 10 hours of freaking internal dialogue that almost bored me to tears. But I soldiered on, since I paid for the damn audiobook. The narrator was fine when she was doing the so-called heroine's part; she just didn't have any range when doing the other characters.
The only reason I gave this 2 stars instead of one is because I liked Malcolm. And he's pretty much the only one I liked. He didn't seem manwhore-ish to me. I thought Rachel was a total idiot. What did she think would happen when Malcolm found out? Doing a story for a magazine is fine, but let's maintain some morals here. Her friend Gina was the worst. Total bitch, IMHO. She was dumped by her boyfriend Paul, so NO ONE should be in love. Just wanted to smack shit out of her.
Since I thought Malcolm was good, I thought I'd just spend a few bucks on the Kindle edition to see what happens. I don't want to pay the Audible price for it. But since the e-book version was $8.99, I guess I shall remain blissfully ignorant.
