Great book, as always from this author. My only disappointment was finding that this title has no WhisperSynv Kindle available, which I do not understand. I also own the Kindle edition, and as I manually turn the pages in the Kindle book while listening to the Audible book, I can hear and see that the texts are identical. Audible: PLEASE get this one and all of the rest of the books by L.E.Modesitt Jr available with whispersync for Kindle and Audible.

The hard-won battles fought in Imager's Battalion have earned Quaeryt a promotion to commander, as well as an assignment to convince the Pharsi High Council in the nation of Khel to submit to Lord Bhayar's rule, which is key to Bhayar's ambition to unite all of Solidar. Joined by his pregnant wife, Vaelora, who is also Bhayar's sister, Quaeryt leads an army and a handful of imagers deeper into the hostile lands once held by the tyrannical Rex Kharst.

The book, story, and narration are very well done, and the Kindle ebook and Audible Audiobook work fine with Whispersync if you want to switch from one to the other after syncing with the Amazon web site. But I wanted to use Immersion reading in the Kindle app like I did with volume 6 of this series, but Amazon doesn't make that available for volume 7 and I am disappointed about that. As a workaround, I run the Audible app in background to play the narration while using the Kindle app in foreground so I can manually flip the pages. Amazon needs to fix this book's immersion reading. (and also make the Kindle app available on Fire TV and Firestick).

I really love the story and where it may lead in the series. The performance has the proper timing but the female voices are horrible. I got the next book but just couldn't listen to the same reader throughout the entire series. I do plan on buying the paperbacks.

Clare and Henry have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was thirty-six. They were married when Clare was twenty-three and Henry was thirty-one. Impossible but true, because Henry is one of the first people diagnosed with Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets and he finds himself misplaced in time, pulled to moments of emotional gravity from his life, past and future.

Firstly, the readers did an excellent job reading this story with clear voices and feelings. The readers voices are a very important factor to me when I choose an audiobook.
Secondly, the story is impressively coherent for such a difficult task as following and joining two individual lifelines, one of whose actually jumps around in time.
Thirdly, the story also works well to combine both a science fiction aspect (the time travel) with the romance between Claire & Henry.
Character development is excellent and the story settings are very well worked out and descriptively picturesque.
Bravo! I'll be looking for more stories from this author, if not about Claire & Henry (whose story I felt was completed), then maybe about other characters with CDS (read the story to find out what that is.)
