Even as an adult I love to read novels meant for younger audiences nd this story was time well spent. Itweaves a wonderful tale keeping all the charm safe for the young. Both author and narrator have created lasting memories.

In Foundation the chronicler of London and of its river, the Thames, takes us from the primeval forests of England's prehistory to the death of the first Tudor king, Henry VII, in 1509. He guides us from the building of Stonehenge to the founding of the two great glories of medieval England: common law and the cathedrals. He shows us glimpses of the country's most distant past - a Neolithic stirrup found in a grave, a Roman fort, a Saxon tomb, a medieval manor house.

I really enjoy the content as well as the narrator. I'm excited to move to the next book in the series.

Simon, Jane, and Barney, enlisted by their mysterious great-uncle, arrive in a small coastal town to recover a priceless golden grail stolen by the forces of evil: the Dark. They are not at first aware of the strange powers of another boy brought to help, Will Stanton, nor of the sinister significance of the Greenwitch, an image of leaves and branches that for centuries has been cast into the sea for good luck in fishing and harvest.

I continue to enjoy these characters some 35 years later. A quick jaunt back to the familiar comfort of childhood. Susan Cooper is a master storyteller and Alex Jennings is simply the best at bringing these stories to life.
