Uncle Tom's Cabin was the best-selling novel of the 19th century and the second best-selling book of that century, following the Bible. It is credited with helping fuel the abolitionist cause in the 1850s. In 1855, three years after it was published, it was called "the most popular novel of our day." A thrilling and important piece of American literature!

This book helped form our history . Luke 4:18 says He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free. And that is exactly what this author was called to do. Shedding light on the darkness and calling out what slavery is. Oh what courage Harriet Beecher Stowe called forth in her time. What courage will we have for such a time as this?

In Rooted, Banning Liebscher takes us to the life of David to show how God expands our root system in the hidden places to leave an impact on the visible world. It was in a field of prayerful devotion, a season of serving, and a cave of community that God prepared David for his crown - the same way God prepares us. Take a look at your own life. Are you embracing God's process, the sometimes painstaking and maddening process?
