Professor Medina gave a wonderful performance in this Great Course! The information was enlightening and I found this course enjoyable as well as packed full of useful information!! The “bones” I referred to in the headline is how he linked evolution to many things that were unknown and simply speculation.

People with borderline or narcissistic personality disorders have a serious mental illness that primarily affects their intimate, personal, and family relationships. Often they appear to be normally functioning at work and in public interactions, and narcissists may even be highly effective, in the short term, in some work or social situations. However, in intimate relationships, they can be emotional, aggressive, demeaning, illogical, paranoid, accusing, and controlling - in the extreme.

If you could sum up Stop Caretaking the Borderline or Narcissist in three words, what would they be?

This book was very helpful as I have been trying to navigate through all this with some who are close to me.

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

The book focuses on what the caretaker can do to become healthy as well as giving a clear idea what to expect from the Borderline or Narcissist. She treats both parties with honor and respect.

Why do people dodge responsibility when things fall apart? Why the parade of public figures unable to own up when they screw up? Why the endless marital quarrels over who is right? Why can we see hypocrisy in others but not in ourselves? Are we all liars? Or do we really believe the stories we tell? Backed by years of research and delivered in lively, energetic prose, Mistakes Were Made (But Not by Me) offers a fascinating explanation of self-deception.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would not recommend the audio book. He slurs his words and it's very difficult trying to listen to the content of the book due to his poor articulation and annoying voice. If he has such a powerful message and wants to share it with as many people as possible, then why would he choose to use someone with such poor audio skills, even if it is his own?

What didn’t you like about Dr. David R. Hawkins’s performance?

His voice.

Did Power vs. Force inspire you to do anything?

The message is provocative, but the messenger spoils some of it.
