Where does City of Thieves rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is one of the top ten audio books I have heard.

What did you like best about this story?

The story line was full of surprises and one line sticks in my mind. A secret police officer tells the protagonist that sometimes saying nothing is the smartest thing to do.

What does Ron Perlman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He is an amazing narrator. I could imagine the characters speaking those lines. I will now actively seek books that he has narrated.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The account of the girl that tried to escape.

I want everyone to read / hear this book.

The history of the fair, all the figures from our past, make this story compelling even without the killer. I highly recommend to all.

One of the top ten audiobooks I have purchased/heard.

The depicton of the characters brings them straight into my head.

What does Jim Dale bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I love the reader's accents. It makes them more real to me.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did not want it to end, but it ended in a way that I could accept.

A wonderful story performed beautifully. I have recommended it to my mother and all my reader friends.

I could not stop talking about this book. It is one of the best listens I have found. The author combines personal stories and hard facts in a way that keeps the book from being dry or weepy. Wonderful!
