I love plot driven stories so this book had me hooked from the start. The mythology is established quickly and then you are thrust into the present day world of Jack Elliot whose mundane life soon spins out of control as he discovers an ancient secret.

I loved the quick action, danger and thrills that keep the story moving. Combined with the mythology and history, this book is a fascinating tale. The plot unfolds with twists and turns that keep the pacing strong and the suspense compelling. I totally enjoyed the time spent with these characters, and I'm looking forward to more from Dean Kutzler.

The narrator was okay, but to me, he sounded old. It felt more like he was reading the book vs. infusing color and life into the characters. I think a younger narrator with a big quicker pacing and wider range of inflection might be a better match with Jack.

This story started out slow to me because of the prologue and then individual characters' stories. But once I became familiar with the story, I was hooked. There is great detail so you feel like you're in the story with the characters, experiencing their confrontation with evil. There characters are complex and it's easy to get drawn into their stories/emotions.

The narration was okay. I found the narrator's tone a bit flat, generic. It was particularly dark or gritty, matching the tone of the story. However, the pacing is good, the enunciation clear and easy to understand, and he does not detract from the story by trying to personalize his voice for each character.

Fans of horror and supernatural tales will enjoy this story.

I enjoyed the narration of this mystery. Andrew Tell did a good job capturing the dark, edgy subject matter of this book. His pacing was good, the diction easy to understand and his differentiation between the characters adept.

The story line deals with subject matter (crimes against children) that some readers may find disturbing. It is dark and gripping. I struggled mostly with the writer's mastery of craft. He tried to create multidimensional characters driven by compelling motivation and conflict, but some of the events, reactions and situations felt contrived to fit the story and were not credible. There are some situations in which important events are coincidental instead of feeling natural and organic.

Not a bad story but a few elements missed the mark for me.

London, 1819. Richard, Marquess of Devon, is satisfied with his ton marriage. His wife of five months, Lady Eugenia Devon, thought she was, too, until she found the book. Their marriage is one of respect and affection, with no messy entanglements such as love. Devon's upbringing impressed upon him that gentlemen slake their baser needs on a mistress, not their gently bred wives. However, once married, he was no longer comfortable bedding a woman other than Eugenia.

Every character in this story is in some kind of hot mess. Some of the time they are legitimately trying to clean up the mess, but other times they just keep digging themselves deeper into trouble.

There is something oddly compelling about the gritty snippets of life experienced by Samantha, Deena, Cierra and Lettie. You genuinely want them to find their way to a better place...but they have so, so far to go.

If you like raw, keeping it real stories, check out this book. If you prefer more of an escape from your own daily dramas, you might want to pass.

The narrator did a decent job portraying the characters.

Super cute PNR rom-com, with the emphasis on cute!

DT Dyllin is a new-to-me author, but I'll be looking for more Team Unicorn after enjoying this audio version. This story includes a reluctant sexy dragon warrior, a unicorn shifter who likes to bake, demonic Girl Scouts and other magical creatures running rampant through....Nashville. Yes, Nashville.

I totally enjoyed Talia and Bryn's story as the battle evil and the passion binding them together. Bryn's strength and skepticism is the perfect foil for Talia's perpetual optimism...even when things don't work out quite like she planned. My favorite thing about stories like this are the mix of everyday life mixed with magical elements.

Melissa Schwairy does an outstanding job narrating this story, capturing Talia's upbeat, lively personality, along with the other characters in the book. I finished the audiobook in one day, so entranced and captivated by every element. Definitely a recommended read for fans of bright and breezy PNR romances.

Simone Carter knows how to write an alpha male romance! Fans of this genre will be wholly satisfied with her stories. Sexy heroes, likable heroines, sexual tension and the guaranteed HEA. I enjoyed the stories, although some plots were predictable and some characters were stereotypical.

I definitely recommend this box set in any format because it packs in loads of content that will meet or exceed reader expectations.

The narrator's performance wasn't bad but it wasn't great. For this reader, the narration seemed generic and predictable. The characterization didn't stand out and the verbal inflection was middle of the road. It felt like the narrator was just reading the stories versus infusing color and personality and life into the characters. Again, a good, if mediocre, performance. I don't think listeners will be disappointed.

Naaygi found them waiting for her - as she somehow knew they would be - as the cage doors opened. She even knew somehow what they were: a breed of carnosaur the “evolved” humans had called nanotyrannosaurs, the “Pygmy Tyrants”. And thus she bowed to them and touched her forehead to the pavement, a pavement which ran red with blood and was strewn with the dismembered, disemboweled corpses of at least 50 men and women. And then whispered to them in a language older than words, "Follow me."

This was a great action-packed audiobook about a group of people trying to survive, following an apocalyptic event known as the Flashback. There is conflict among the group, danger and threats from the creatures now roaming the planet and other humans also trying to survive.

There are details of the world building that confused me as this is a continuation (sequel) for the story which starts in book 1. Read or listen to that book first to maximize your enjoyment.

I was disappointed when the story ended.

The narrator gives a professional, clean delivery of the story. It was easy to follow along and differentiate between characters.

Akayla Furrows does smexy time-out just right. Quckie stories with just enough plot and plenty of steam for when you want an hour or so for yourself. A great distraction or prelude to time with someone special. Although the focus is on the smexy thrillers, there's always a story hook at the end for readers.

The narrator has a heavy accent which made it hard for me to sometimes understand the narration. Her voice is sexy and smooth, well suited for this story.
