The White Tree (book one): In Mallon the dark magic of the nether has been banned for centuries. Its users have been driven out or killed. Its secrets lost. Tim Reynolds is his amazing usual self. I struggled to finish the first 2 parts. There were a couple of times in the first part where I felt intrigued, but the story seemed to go no where. Conflict drives any good story and there just isn't any here. Frankly, I just got bored and forgot about it. Feel bad returning it because I listened to 20 hours, so I probably won't.

When a commercial aircraft makes an emergency landing at an Iranian military base, it looks like a crisis has been narrowly avoided. But for undercover intelligence analyst Zac Miller, the CIA-staged crash landing is the only part of his assignment that goes right. What was supposed to be a simple surveillance mission quickly heads south when the Iranians apprehend the smooth-talking American. Never trained to be a field operative, Zac's in over his head, especially when it turns out escaping from captivity is only the beginning of his problems.

Scott Jurek is one of the world's best known and most beloved ultrarunners. Renowned for his remarkable endurance and speed, accomplished on a vegan diet, he's finished first in nearly all of ultrarunning's elite events over the course of his career. But after two decades of racing, training, speaking, and touring, Jurek felt an urgent need to discover something new about himself. He embarked on a wholly unique challenge, one that would force him to grow as a person and as an athlete: breaking the speed record for the Appalachian Trail.

Great story with some trucker language - don't listen to it in the car with your kids!

Too bad this one flies under the radar for most folks - this is one of my favorite trilogies in the fantasy genre. Just give it a go - you won't be disappointed!
