antlers on a female dearkin? a woman giving up her feet for hooves? and how exactly does she shift her motorcycle?
yes I'm sure nerd fantasy buffs imagine adult fantasies that include antlers tangled up in a duvet and dirts clothes hanging from an impromptu landry rack come morning.
doorways must be a pain. although the little woman cooking... handy for hanging cooking spoons, pots pans..
2 hooves ... on a tile floor. hope she regens fast or the emergency bills are going to bankrupt her.
I can just see it now. Deerkin wheelchairs.
a herd of them furiously rolling away from a lionkin.
hint... a little common sense.

This story line can have another 40 books just filling in the side storied of the cast of characters.
Some great scifi toys, some new some new spin on the usual scifi toys. all good.

Can you say adventures of TEAM BMW?

Not the world class writing or in depth discovery of humanity of heavy hitters of SciFi. But it was a fun ride needing a B.A.N. monthly fix of mayhem .
and if i can find Emily's previois narrations prior to this series... I'll give it a spin.
I didn't get the time jumping of the last 2 books.
almost like some chapters where misplaced between the 2.
If you like the last 20 books..D'uh... you'll like this one.
Thank you both for a endless hours fun.

It's one thing to purchase a horrible book randomly. But after 2 previous books for the author to turn into a complete idiot and insult the reader's intelligence on every...single... freaking... page ...is just enraging.
It was either a random bum on off the streets or an extremely talented and evil agent provocateur substituting for the original author.
suddenly the hero can't remember how to tie his shoe lace? He suddenly looses his creative genius? He is suddenly a 14 year old girl with angst?
MUST BACK A CAKE? NEWS FLASH! NO ONE FREAKING CARES! Not funny, not endearing, just crappy writting.
oh my... everything goes wrong at the exactly the perfect time. And the hero has no clue? not even a wrong idea? please! surprise no explanation. no thread to the next book just a sorry excuse for a plot.
A short bus 1st grader and a crayon would produce a Pulitzer prize compared to this insulting dreck.
I wouldn't even light a fire with this refuse.

The survivors have come to settle in the mountains of Wyoming, fighting day in and day out to establish a home for themselves in a near-empty world. Things are good at first; scavenging is a workable, short-term solution that seems to be providing all they need. But they know that it’s only a matter of time before the food runs out. They need to scramble to find a sustainable solution before the clock stops, and for a little handful of people up in the mountains, the odds don’t seem very favorable.

i hate apocalypse based stories. Very depressing.
But this series is amazing.
RC BRAY keeps upping him game to God mode and beyond. Move over Grover.
The 1 thing that takes me out of the game is this.
Not enough time has gone by to establish a Mad Max psyche. That takes time to grind down humanity and then build up a full blown community infrastructure.
A handful of unrelenting pyschos bent on killing no matter what is a stretch. A whole Army that requires logistics and infrastructure... Never.
as this is what the author uses as a compelling story base... why the heck would he violate it so completely.
Reward verses risk does not hold water.
an attack yes. long chase of the target with massive loss of life and resources from the pursuers...
not going to happen until that Mad Max nutter world is in full swing. logistics and pysche has not been established.
A 1 time killer motorcycle gang ok. But repeately using the same plot devise. ..large groups of killers bent on killing no matter what the cost... at this stage of humanities fall... Please, that is so weak.
Sorry but for such amazing writting and narration this is an editorial blunder beyond belief.
That and a handful of aggravating obvious omissions from very smart and tactically savvy characters that detract severly from plot, characters and believability of the story line.
no caltraps for pursuers, no molotov cocktails?
no pipe bombs? no barrels of oil to slick the road or set it on fire?
no one training as snipers? no barrett 50 cal? no drones for security? no consideration for hunting, nor hunting riffles? NO EARTH MOVING EQUIPMENT for farming or preping defense?
no semi trucks nor truck stops for diesel. No tractor trailers for transportation?
To many things are left out and I groan at this obvious faux pas.
This fantastic author NEEDS HELP! AND A NEW EDITOR that can find his backside with either hand.
Imagine what Gibbs would say to this tragedy.
"like a pack of monkeys trying to ...... a football."

SOLID PLOT, old stories with a new twist.
Well developed characters. they are likeable and relatable. There was much to like in this book and little not to like.
Our flawed protagonist grows along the way sometimes screaming and kicking and sometimes through his own introspection.
R.C.Bray graces this novel with his unique voice and narration skills. He is one of the best.
In short I am looking forward to exploring more of this author's creation.
I am full and satisfied. a complete story in 1 book no less... I have forgotten that could be done... and done well.
ENJOY as I have.
