After his wife turned terrorist, Simon Redfall thought his life couldn’t get any worse. On the lam and all alone, Redfall risks his life to attend the public execution of the woman he once loved. The only reward for his sympathy is an angry mob trying to tear him to shreds. When a deluge of red rain begins to fall, Redfall is pulled to safety by eccentric preppers and asked to join their mission to uncover a global weather conspiracy smothering the planet. As the red storm clouds spread, so does trouble when power grids falter, militants weaponize, and world leaders start pointing fingers.

The idea of requiring us to spend $14.95 for each segment of a book that oftentimes is in five parts or more is a win - win for Audible and authors alike. However, I'm not happy with paying $75.00 for a book that would cost me less than $26.00 at Barnes & Noble.

Cassy and her clan have made it alive to the promised oasis of her farm and prepare for the upcoming winter. But old enemies race to catch up to them and have a different plan in mind. Meanwhile, resistance cells in New York face long odds, including betrayal from within and a tightening gauntlet from the invaders and their quislings. The 20s hint at a plot to level the playing field against the invaders, but their end-game is unclear.

The new trend on Audible seems to be the practice of breaking up a story into multiple parts. I can't blame the author for wanting to triple or quadruple his royalty, but I'm growing weary of paying $60 or more for a single title that comprises four or more books!

Corey Wayne can relate to most men. He started out in life mirroring his parents' disfunctional behavior, and as a result, had no success with women. When he discovered that this unconscious behavior was learned from others, he became free to recreate himself into who he knew he wanted to be in life. Many other aspects of his life transformed as a result of his discovery. It's so true that "those things we don't know that we don't know will impinge upon us every waking hour of our lives". Until we discover these hidden beliefs, we will continue to get the same undesirable results in life.

The Superpox-99 virus has wiped out nearly the entire human race. Governments have collapsed. Cities have become graveyards filled with unspeakable horror. People have resorted to scavenging from the dead, or taking from the living. The entire industrialized world has become a wasteland of abandoned cars, decaying bodies, and feral animals. To stay alive, U.S. Deputy Marshal Mason Raines must forage for food, water, and gasoline while outgunning those who seek to take advantage of the apocalyptic anarchy. Together with his giant Irish wolfhound, Bowie, he aligns with survivors of the town of Boone in a life and death struggle against a gang of violent criminals. With each deadly encounter, Mason is force to accept his place as one of the nation's few remaining lawmen. In a world now populated by escaped convicts, paranoid mutants, and government hit squads, his only hope to save the townspeople is to enforce his own brand of frontier justice.

Not only does the author impart good technical information about gear that could be a game changer in a societal collapse, he also tells a very realistic story of survival and the importance of community. The reader will come away with a deeper understanding of why being prepared is so critically important, and how our government is likely to respond to independent citizens during a crisis.

But his first mission makes him wish he had stayed on the outs when a pair of Chinese agents try to take him down in Hong Kong. Normally the Chinese prefer to stay eyes-only on foreign agents.
