A discarded child fated to become a powerful Jarl - here is the story of Sidroc. Fate guides the path of his father, Hrald, to his meeting with the woman whose son would help change the face of ninth-century Angle-land. An ever-growing rivalry between Sidroc and his cousin Toki defines the boys' early years. Their young uncle, Yrling, knows success as a raider in far-off Angle-land, and trains his nephews in the ways of the warrior. Ahead of them is the perilous crossing of the North Sea, which stands between them and the plunder they seek.

This first (prequel technically) book in the “A Circle of Ceridwen Saga Story” is a wonderful backstory to one of the most mysterious and loved characters in the Saga Story. This book is narrated magnificently by Ms. Nagle and the plot and character development is nothing short of immaculate. My only regret is that I discovered this book after reading the original Saga Story. I hope the talented Randolph continues this story with more books to come.

I’m disappointed only that this series has 6 books and not more. The story line and performance was wonderful. The only complaint is that the pronunciation of names and places change depending on the voice performer. 5 stars all around. A historic and magical experience awaits you with this series. Caution: don’t begin unless you plan to become addicted to listening to all 6 books. Very well done.

Jamie Fraser knows from his time-traveling wife Claire that, no matter how unlikely it seems, America will win the Revolutionary War. But that truth offers little solace, since Jamie realizes he might find himself pointing a weapon directly at his own son - a young officer in the British army. And Jamie isn't the only one with a tormented soul - for Claire may know who wins the conflict, but she certainly doesn't know whether or not her beloved Jamie survives.

New York Times best-selling author Diana Gabaldon enchanted scores of fans with Outlander, her electrifying historical saga set in 18th-century Scotland. Now this sequel sweeps listeners back into the past as Claire relates more of her perilous sojourn there with her Scottish warrior husband, James Fraser. Twenty years after her strange journey back in time, Claire has returned to Scotland with her daughter, determined to share with her the secret she has harbored since her time travel.

This book is simply wonderful. The plot is very interesting and holds your attention the entire time. The history is fascinating and the fantasy very eloquently sprinkled in. I would very much recommend this series, so far, to anyone that wants historical fiction with a bit of magic, and a sweep of romance (not anything like a Nora Roberts novel). It's sublime. I'm captivated and cannot wait to continue the series.
