Miss Mary Whitsun is far too intelligent to fall for the rakish charms of a handsome aristocrat. But when the gentleman in question approaches her in a bookshop, mistaking her for his fiancée, Lady Johanna Albright, the flirtatious encounter only raises more questions. Could Mary, a servant raised in a St Giles orphanage, actually be Lady Joanna's long-lost twin sister? If so, Mary has been betrothed since birth - to the rakishly handsome aristocrat himself....

All he knows with certainty is that the soothing voice and presence of the woman moving around above enables him to endure the agony of his wounds. And he will do whatever it takes to be with her.

I could not put this book down. The 2nd book of the Gifted Ones was as compelling as the 1st one. It made me smile to see how Beth fit into the 13th century and Robert is my new hero. He was so accepting of Beth's different ways but given who his brother and sister in law are, completely understandable. My absolute favorite part was meeting Robert's squire and finally have that piece of the puzzle click into place. Huge kudos to Kristen Potter for an amazing narrative performance.

Kelly Bowen is a new author to me. I love her writing style. Her story lines are original and her plots interesting.

Max and Ivory start off a little rocky when a dead earl is found in Max's sister's bed. The story grabs you from the start and just keeps you on your toes.

Ashford McNabb is my favorite narrator hands down so the combination in this book is perfection for me.

I highly recommend this book and also the next in the series too. I hope everyone enjoys this book as much as I did.

I absolutely loved this book! I couldn't stop listening. The story, characters and evolving plot had me riveted. Penelope and Bhrodi are married to create a peace alliance but their marriage becomes so much more than that. In addition to an arranged marriage, throw in Penny's De Wolf family, an invading English army, an entertaining mad uncle and an ancient mythical beast and you'll find yourself whisked away to medieval Wales and a book that you can't put down.

Kathryn Le Veque is a fairly new author for me but I have to say that any book I've read or listened has grabbed me from the beginning. Although I would like to savor and enjoy her books, at the same time I can't read fast enough to see how the story plays out.

I would highly recommend any of her books but I particularly enjoyed The Serpent.

What a great series! This genre is not something I usually read but I have to say I'm hooked. I love the focus on each Immortal Guardian's story but also the continuing storyline of their fight, good vs. evil. It's also great to see characters from previous books and their relationships with each other.
