Jane Grey was queen of England for nine days. Her father and his allies crowned her instead of the dead king's half sister, Mary Tudor, who quickly mustered an army, claimed her throne, and locked Jane in the Tower of London. When Jane refused to betray her Protestant faith, Mary sent her to the executioner's block, where Jane transformed her father's greedy power grab into tragic martyrdom.

a great book to get lost in. One of my favorite authors. I was hesitant at first to listen to this because of the 3 different stories but a different style voice was used for each so you felt like you were getting 3 different people. It is heartbreaking but a great alternative view of Queen Katherine

Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning? In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Hunger Games to be better than the print version?

Yes and no. There is nothing better I like than to curl up with a blanket and read a great book, but since I can't always do that, I have turned to Audible for my long drives to and from work. Listening to the Hunger Games after reading it, really gave me a clear mental picture of the story. I was able to sit back and really imagine the story as it was read.

What did you like best about this story?

The emotions and drama that McCormick brought to the narration

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes! It also made me want to re-watch the movie.

Would you listen to Captive Queen again? Why?

Yes, I love historical stories about kings and queens. This was well written and expertly narrated. The story covers not just a romance, but the history and Weirs point of view for the life of a rich and intriguing women living through a male dominated life. Her trials and tribulations were great, but in the end, with the love of her many children, she was able to rise above it all.

What does Rosalyn Landor bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The emotions and fire of the Queen

In the fall of 1984, high school students Amanda Collier and Dawson Cole fell deeply, irrevocably in love. Though they were from opposite sides of the tracks, their love for one another seemed to defy the realities of life in the small town of Oriental, North Carolina. But as the summer of their senior year came to a close, unforeseen events would tear the young couple apart, setting them on radically divergent paths.

What did you love best about The Best of Me?

The ending. I can usually guess the ending of a story, but this one through me completely.

What other book might you compare The Best of Me to and why?

Any of Sparks other books.

What aspect of Sean Pratt’s performance would you have changed?

He lacked real emotion when he was narrating. It made for a boring point of view when he was just reading and not portraying the characters.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would only recommend this book if you do not mind a largely religious story. When I read the description, it was not clear that the entire story is based around religion and a girls finding of God. While I am OK with this, others might be put off.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

The narrator annoyed me. She sounded a lot like a machine at times.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
