If you could sum up Nate the Great Collected Stories in three words, what would they be?

Holds His attention!
what could be better than that?

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

We listened to this at the hospital and it was so sweet to see my husband and son cuddled on the hospital bed listening to this. My husband fell asleep but he's a sick man. My son was has now listened to them all twice.

In Mrs. Lincoln’s Dressmaker, novelist Jennifer Chiaverini presents a stunning account of the friendship that blossomed between Mary Todd Lincoln and her seamstress, Elizabeth 'Lizzie' Keckley, a former slave who gained her professional reputation in Washington, D.C. by outfitting the city’s elite. Keckley made history by sewing for First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln within the White House, a trusted witness to many private moments between the President and his wife, two of the most compelling figures in American history.

Would you try another book from Jennifer Chiaverini and/or Christina Moore?

Yes, I've read others by JC and loved them. This one I did not love. I'm a complete fan of historical fiction but this book seemed to drag on and on. I felt like I might as well pick up a text book.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Gave up and didn't get that far.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I have never seen the movie but not sure I would want to. This book was so good yet so descriptive. Not sure I can handle some of that on the screen.

What about Jeff Woodman’s performance did you like?

The voice was perfect. So nice to listen too, and the accent so perfect,

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It left me sickened on occasion yet in that situation what else could a person do?

What does Jesus mean when he says, "Follow me"? Twenty years ago, pastor-teacher and best-selling author John MacArthur tackled that seemingly simple question and wrote a book that has since taken its place among Christianity's classics. This 20th anniversary edition of MacArthurs provocative book has been revised and contains one new chapter.

Would you try another book from John F. MacArthur and/or Tom Casaletto?

Yes on John MacArthur but I totally hated the robot monotone.

Would you be willing to try another one of Tom Casaletto’s performances?

I don't think so.

Was The Gospel According to Jesus worth the listening time?

It would have been better to read. I'm quite happy my husband has the book. It sounds so robotic it drives me crazy.

Any additional comments?

This is one of the best books ever written by John MacArthur. I have several more in my wish list but if they have the same narrator I, going to have to pass on them.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Some books are meant to be read; others are meant to be heard – Water for Elephants falls into the second group, and is one of the best examples we have of how a powerful performance enhances a great story. Nonagenarian Jacob Jankowski reflects back on his wild and wondrous days with a circus. It's the Depression Era and Jacob, finding himself parentless and penniless, joins the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.

There is no need to take a perfectly good book and ruin it with junk that doesnt need to be.
I should have read the 1 star reviews on amazon before purchasing.
If you like a clean book, then this one isnt for you. Now to figure out how to delete it from my account totally.
