Scrabbling to make ends meet, she takes a job as a quasi detective, solving life's little mysteries for a pair of eccentric women in one of Detroit's last prestigious neighborhoods. When she spots a corpse on the next-door lawn, she jumps back into honest work as an investigative journalist. Her friend, Mercedes, reveals that the dead woman, Abby Rawson, played on a women's softball team she manages and pressures Lillian into taking her spot.

What would you do if an irresistibly desirable but utterly untouchable woman whispered to you, "If you want me, you'll have to come and get me?'" That's exactly the situation that Elliott Foster, CEO of Foster MacKenzie, finds herself in when she meets the alluring Lauren Collier, Chief Legal Counsel of a Fortune 500 company. Elliott never has a shortage of attractive women willing to share her bed, and she doesn't care if they are attracted to her or just her money.

I found the narration to be annoying and got in the way of a decent story. Her inflection in certain cases seemed really off and made it difficult to listen to the entire story.

and I just don't think I can listen to the rest. Audible can have this one back. In my opinion, you have to build anticipation for the sex. Otherwise, it is just more or less soft core porn and not exciting at all to me, just words.

I mean, I get the times when you first get together and all you do is have sex...but I'm reading it, not doing it, I'm gonna need a little more.

I do like the fact that it has more graphic and real lesbian sex. A lot of books just pussyfoot around the edges. But again, it is better when you lead into it. More story would go along way with this book. Maybe it comes later, but it is too late for me.

Rachel Maddow's Drift argues that we've drifted away from America's original ideals and become a nation weirdly at peace with perpetual war, with all the financial and human costs that entails. Sensible yet provocative, dead serious yet seriously funny, Drift will reinvigorate a "loud and jangly" political debate about how, when, and where to apply America's strength and power - and who gets to make those decisions.

Rachel has written (spoken) in the same delivery style as her shows accustomed delivery. I find it holds my attention on a subject that I know nothing about. The content is balanced across the political spectrum and just points to the nuts and bolts without much judgement. Was an enjoyable listen to the end.

Not being read by Lindsey is a bummer if you are a fan and just want to hear her. No idea why she would not read the book herself. She keeps referring to an enhanced version to find some workouts and stuff but never says how to find it.

Olivia Bennett is on the tenure track at Cornell University, the resident expert on Southern women writers. After moving to upstate New York from Atlanta, she falls in love with and purchases an old, run-down farmhouse. The only catch: she knows nothing about renovating a house, taking care of land, or snow. Joss Bauer is a New York native who grew up in her family's construction business. She has a soft spot for old houses, but no patience for overpaid debutantes who want to play at country living.
