Plenty of action and emotion. I feel like many questions are answered with this book. Questions I've had for a long time, and questions I didn't even know I had.

Mankind has lorded over the land of Illian for a thousand years, enjoying what was left to them by the elves, as if it were their birthright. A thousand years is a long time for an immortal race to see the error of their ways and realize a truth that has remained unsaid for a millennia - elves are superior! They are faster, stronger, and connected to the magical world in a way that man could never grasp. Illian is their birthright. The six kingdoms of man are fractured, unallied and always clawing at each other's doors for more power.

Pretty damn good ending. Main reason it gets 4 stars. If the book was that good throughout the story would have given 5 stars.

Since time immemorial, humans have worshipped the gods they call Fhrey, truly a race apart: invincible in battle, masters of magic, and seemingly immortal. But when a god falls to a human blade, the balance of power between humans and those they thought were gods changes forever. Now only a few stand between humankind and annihilation: Raithe, reluctant to embrace his destiny as the God Killer. Suri, a young seer burdened by signs of impending doom. I do have to say that the author is a phenomenal writer. Seems to spend a lot of time with his work, and goes into great detail. Although, the story reminded me of a medieval soap opera. Lots of drama and hidden secrets from people's past with very little action. No real main focus on any one character for you to cheer on through their struggles. I realize this is what most people enjoy, but it's not what I'm looking for in a book.
