For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand. Then the time comes when she yearns to be touched and loved. When two young men from town become intrigued by her wild beauty, Kya opens herself to a new life - until the unthinkable happens.

I might have lost friends by not returning calls because I could not stop listening to this book. I am now hooked on audibles thanks to this book. You feel like you are there and it has enough twists in it to not drop your guard.

Great read. So realistic that it's scarey. The characters made the story seem so believable because they were described so perfectly. And it's true- these were ordinary people put to their excruciating limits in a viral epidemic and apocalyptic time and very believable how people would react if this did happen. It's thought provoking and makes me want to move back to the swamps!

Abused No More is a wonderful book of hope, inspiration and empowerment for all who have experienced the devastation of abuse. Within its pages are empowering statements and beautiful promises from God's mouth to your ear - promises that uplift, heal wounded souls and bring hope for the future. Used on a daily basis, this book reminds us of the power that lies within and works to restore self-esteem, self-confidence and purpose.

I am really into the afterlife and a firm believer in the higher up and God but I do not want scripture quoted to me for my entertainment. Empowerment and healing don't seem to work here.
Can I get my credit back? I couldn't take more than 15 minutes of this!
