I'm NHL defenseman Lance Romero, AKA Lance "Romance". I'm notorious for parties and excess. I have the most penalty minutes in the league. I get into the most fights. I take the most hits. I'm a player on and off the ice. I'm the one women with no inhibitions want. Not because I like the notoriety, but because I don't know how to be any other way. I have secrets. Ones I shared with the wrong person, and she used them against me. Sometimes she still does.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

On the fence, the universe the author writes is very interesting which keeps me reading. The way the women are written, they tend to be a bit whiney for my taste. Not very modern considering it's in the future.

Would you be willing to try another book from Evangeline Anderson? Why or why not?

I do like her imagination in an alternate universe or alien invasion but the heroines do not come off as very compassionate or 3 dimensional in this series.

Would you be willing to try another one of Anne Johnstonbrown’s performances?

No, I would say she's wooden, never again. It was so very disappointing. I read the books first and the narration put me off.

What did you like best about this story?

I was glad you didn't know what was going to happen unlike some stories. It went back and forth within the different characters' voices. Happy to read/listen to the whole series!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did laugh and cry , quite unexpected!! Great writing!

In American on Purpose, Craig Ferguson delivers a moving and achingly funny memoir of living the American dream as he journeys from the mean streets of Glasgow, Scotland, to the comedic promised land of Hollywood. Along the way he stumbles through several attempts to make his mark - as a punk rock musician, a construction worker, a bouncer, and, tragically, a modern dancer.

As a First generation American myself, I loved to read his story of a fresh-faced new American. It's amazing he survived so much in his young life and turned the corner to a happy ending. Loved this book and gave gifts of it in print. Thanks Craig, write more!!
