Since moving to Mystic Harbor, Maine, I've made it my life's mission to avoid Reese Blackburn at all costs. Sure, he has cheekbones that could cut glass, not to mention bedroom eyes that could melt any girl into a puddle on the floor. Too bad that doesn't change the fact he's completely stab-worthy. When a fun night out on the town turns deadly, I quickly discover the quaint little hamlet of Mystic Harbor houses more than sandy beaches and adorable B&Bs. Beneath the New England charm rests a world where shifters, demons, vampires, and angelic hunters all vie for power.

I was very pleased with this book! It really makes me want to see how this plays out so I will definitely be listening to the next book. I only have 2 things that REALLY bugged me, but obviously not enough to stop listening. One was the way the author kept calling one of the main characters "The Magician" it was making me absolutely nutty while listening to a very intense scene. For me it was entirely too confusing and then distracting! The second thing was how the author would go back to a scene from the past. I do like the back story information, but the transitions from present to past were not as defined because when it happened it took me a second to figure out what time period I was in. The narrator to a fantastic job as well! She kept me in the story all the way! Overall this book was great and I highly recommend it!

Willa Knight: Dead? Alive? Damned to a state of eternal bad luck? Willa and the Abcurse brothers are back, and more determined than ever to stick by each other. Unfortunately, Staviti has other plans, plans that threaten to change the natural order of the worlds—though nobody really understands why. His agenda may very well affect all beings on Minatsol, even those that thought themselves safe in Topia. Even Willa-invincible-Knight. Unsure with her new place in the worlds, Willa must follow the Abcurses to their new post: Champions Peak, a secluded mountain far from civilization, where the most powerful sols have been summoned to hone their abilities through direct contact with the gods. There is a chance that she might survive her time on the mountain, but it seems like staying alive amidst the powerful occupants of the Peak is the least of her concerns. Her real problem is staying on the mountain at all.

I just can't explain how much I love this series! There are only 2-3 book series that I am avidly awaiting the next book and this series is at the top of the list! There is just the right amount of adventure, excitement, angst, love and what not that I am just on the edge of my seat to see what happens next! The narrator just does an amazing job too! I can just get lost listening to her! I am realed in and do not get distracted at all while I listen! I highly recommend this book, it I also seriously suggest you read the series in order from the beginning.

You think you know me? Player. Partier. Fighter. You know what? You're right. I'm all those things. F-ck with mine, and I'll f-ck you 10 times harder. Suspensions. Arrests. You think I care? So yeah, I may fit the bad boy image, but there's so much more you don't know. I'm loyal to a damned fault. I'll never leave your side. The real Logan Kade isn't a manwhore. When I love, I love hard and completely.

I'm on chapter 31 and I'm sick to my stomach and almost in tears for the main female in this book...I can't even believe I'm still listening to this series.

EDIT: Ok I just finished listening to this book. I was alright. I still have a few issues with this one though. There were SO many issues (in my opinion) that were not addressed at all! I really think this story line needed it's own series to work through it all. I just did NOT like it because of some of the key major twists towards the end because there was no way I could believe that ANYONE would readily accept what happened the way the main female character did. I pride myself on suspending belief for fiction but this broke my limit unfortunately. It was well written however and preformed...otherwise I wouldn't have listened till the end OR reviewed! I also can't really decided if i would recommend it or not...but probably not due to my intense feelings towards the end, but some may indeed like it. :/

Ok....I'm only 12 chapters into this book and I can't even explain why I'm still listening. It just must be that good. I am hating what I'm listening too, but these characters have pulled me in. In real life I think I'd seriously slap Sam and punch Mason and his buds in the throat then be done with them all. 8 feel like I'm listening to a soap opera! If your emotions can handle it I recommend this series. VERY FEW books pull me in like this and have me loving AND hating it.

These books have me at all points of the emotional rollercoaster! The story so far has me in it's grip. I cannot tell you how many times I wanted to stop listening due to some of the situations the characters found themselves in. Some of the situations really rubbed me wrong but I just HAD to find out what happened next. To me that's the mark of a really good author. Grant it I haven't finished the series, but so far I'm hooked. For me this is not a light read though. It brings out emotions in me that make me want to throat punch someone as well has high and kiss someone. If you can deal with the rollercoaster of emotions in would definitely recommend this series so far. Also keep in mind this is somewhat of a teenage coming of age story and there is a crap ton of drama! So proceed with caution if you are looking for something light hearted.

edit...ok I actually CRIED for the main female character in this book! Holy CRAP! I really want to quit listening, but I need to see see if she's alright...if this girl was me IRL I'd be gone....done.... I am just TOTALLY amazed I am still listening to this! that right there says how good this author is. Yes the male narrator could be better, but he's not horrible either.

This is a great story, but I'm really disappointed because there were 4 other stories that needed to be heard before this one. I thought I could skip them , but I just can't. There is a LARGE chunk missing that I need to hear before I can continue with these. I wish I could just get the books and read then but that isn't an option for me unfortunately. so I will wait till the other stories are recorded and finish these from there. o do very much recommend S.J. Wests books. They have all held my attention and have me wanting more. I do recommend reading them all on order since I have found myself confused a bit bu missing 4 stories. the narrator is wonderful as well.

This was the very first audible book I just could NOT get into. I couldn't even finish it! I only made it a little more than half way througg hoping it would get better. It didn't. I gave it 3 stars in over all and story because I think it really IS a good story, but I couldn't get past the narration. I don't know exactly what it was, but the narrator REALLY distracted me from this book. I THINK it was the performance of the narration but I'm not entirely sure why she did not hold my attention here. I would not recommend listening to this book. I am going to purchase the book for kindle and read it myself whenever I have some time however because I really do think this is a good story.

This is a wonderful book! I absolutely loved all of it and would greatly recommend it to all! This story gives more insight into the family life of Lochgard's head family and how close everyone are to each other. Between celebrating new life to restoring somewhat broken ones as well as how they face new challenges together. They always stick by one another. It's very heartwarming. I can also see so much potential for future stories as well! I became even more invested in these characters both old and new! Brian Gill did a fabulous job of narrating! He had me from the moment I hit play. I listened to the entire book in one sitting. Before you get into this book I would strongly recommend at least listening/reading Healed by the Dragon first if you haven't yet.

I'm going to try really hard not to throw in any spoilers here, but it'll be hard. I absolutely loved this book! I know I have said this about virtually all of them, but this one set off so many different emotions in me...I was a hot mess listening to this! I really connected with all of the characters which I didnt expect. There were a couple of parts that I would have like a little bit more information on....like why exactly something happened and did a certain someon finally grow up so a certain something else could have happene. Other than those minor things Ms. Donovan had me engrossed till the end! Mr. Furlong was an amazing narrator! I think he greatly helped me stay in the story as I was listening. A lot of times my mind will wander while listening to books but I didnt with this one at all! I highly recommend this book!

I really enjoyed this story. It was just the right amount of conflict tension, relationship escalation, and humor. I love the interaction of the family too. I am definitely looking forward to the next book mainly because I can't figure out who it will focus on. There are so many possibilities and I am excited for more. Brian J. Gill did a really good job with the narration as well. He had me engaged from the start. There were a couple of places that tripped me up because I wasn't sure exactly who was speaking, but it only happened a couple of times and I was able to roll right back into the story with little trouble. Definitely a must listen to book!
