Struggling playwright Sarah Pettijohn is absolutely the last woman Gavin Whitridge, Duke of Baynton, would ever fall in love with. Since his return from war, the Duke of Ashbury's to-do list has been short and anything but sweet: brooding, glowering, menacing London ne'er-do-wells by night. Now there's a new item on the list. He needs an heir - which means he needs a wife. When Emma Gladstone, a vicar's daughter turned seamstress, appears in his library wearing a wedding gown, he decides on the spot that she'll do.

The Colour of Magic, the first novel in Terry Pratchett's wildly imaginative Discworld series, takes the listener on a remarkable journey. The magical planet of Discworld is supported by four massive elephants who stand on the back of the Great A'Tuin, a giant turtle swimming slowly through the mysterious interstellar gulf. An eccentric expedition sets out to explore the planet, encountering dragons who only exist if you believe in them, and of course "The Edge" of the planet.

Brandon Sanderson and Jim Butcher (Codex Alera) are two of my most favorite writers! I thought I had read all of the best Epic Fantasy Series that were out there and couldnt find anything new.(George RR Martin, Robert Jordan, David Eddings, Trudi Canavan, Lois McMaster Bujold-curse of chalion & palladin of souls-, Terry Goodkind -too dark-, ...) While checking Sandersons blogs looking for a new author, he mentioned Terry Pratchet was the all time best Fantasy writers...hence my reading book 1.

It was laugh out loud funny! It was like watching the lord of the rings movie with less drama and a LOT of funny statements. I loved it! Ive listened to book 2 and am now starting book 3.

I have a feeling Ill listen to ALL of them now. The narrator was histerical and perfect!

Its been a while since my last good fantasy book. I absolutely loved it. Action, the story kept moving, violence, drama, good vs. evil, and love. Really well written. I get bored easily when authors drone on and on and stay in the same place on the same problem where I just want to smack a character. Not one instance of that in this one! I didnt 5 star the performance since Uma sometimes gets monotone on the non-speaking parts but there were great differences in the characters voices, you always know whos talking.

I'd definately "read" another Shawna Thomas book.

I normally hate present day fantasy. I only listen to pre-electricity stories. I couldn't find a good one and every other Jim Butcher story has blown me away- so I gave it a try. Once I got into it it was a great story! Action, suspense, mystery, humor, a little bit of funny almost romance. A really great story. The next time I can't find a good epic fantasy I will definitely be downloading book2.

I finished some AWSOME epics, couldnt find any new ones, so I read this one. Short and entertaining. Like a good tv episode. Just not earth shattering.
