Charlie Finn had to grow up fast, living alone by age 16. Highly intelligent, he earned a life-changing scholarship to Harvard, where he learned how to survive and thrive on the outskirts of privileged society. That skill served him well in the cutthroat business world, as it does in more lucrative but dangerous ventures he now operates off the coast of Miami. Charlie tries to separate relationships from work.

This behind the scenes look at two godly leaders gave me much to consider. Challenges abound yet we have an opportunity to see how these servants faced them with God, grounded in His Word.

Over the course of 10 Mitford novels, fans have kept a special place in their hearts for Dooley Kavanagh, first featured in At Home in Mitford as a barefoot, freckle-faced boy in filthy overalls. Now, Father Tim Kavanagh's adopted son has graduated from vet school and opened his own animal clinic. Since money will be tight for a while, maybe he and Lace Harper, his once and future soul mate, should keep their wedding simple.

We bought this book primarily for a long road trip for family members, but I quickly became enthralled with the many twists and turns within the plot. Initially, I had trouble following the characters due to French names, but before long, each one shone clearly within my brain. This was a grand chance to experience a classic that I forgot to read in high school or college! (Familiarity with geography of France and surrounding areas would enhance your listening, I would think.)
