Under pressure from the mayor, Alex Cross steps into the leadership vacuum to crack the case. But before Cross can make any headway, a brutal crime wave sweeps across the region. Although I thoroughly loved this story the voices for a few of the characters were not pleasing at all. Will sounded like he had food in his mouth, and Orlando sounded like a pretend thug. Kyle and Alan's voices were passable.

Kara and Virgil had a falling out and four years ago, and now four years later they were still on the outs. Mainly because of Virgil's unforgiving heart.. So I'll be honest. The store was vintage Brenda Jackson. The storyline is the same the names are changed to give us another story. Otherwise it's a good story, but similar to many others over the years. I am not hating readers, so please oh please, don't get angry with me. I'm just pointing out what I see. A fan still. And by the way the Narrator was not the best either. Fake southern accent was hilarious!

For most couples, a quiet dinner for two at Auberge de la Reine Blanche on the Ile Saint Louis would be just the thing to smooth out the complications in a romance. But for gorgeous Mossad operative Delilah and trying-to-retire contract killer John Rain, nothing is ever easy, and when Rain sees a crew of hard-looking men setting up outside the restaurant, he realizes someone has been bringing her work home with her. Once again Barry Dialer spun another terrific story. This time a rogue National Security Advisor Chief was out to take over the world it seemed. He and his band of assassins went about making hey and taking liberty with the truth. The team was thwarted by an analysts who happen to pick up on inconsistencies with facts stated by the chief. The lead assassin was deaf and had been orphaned at a young age. He learned to fight and kill to stay alive. He was taken in by the NSA chief and trained to be an independent operative. The analysts son was also deaf, so when the assassin was tasked with watching her, it was a natural fit.The two became attracted to one another and started a relationship. When the Chief realized the analyst had gone rogue he did the unthinkable. The story had lots of the usual Dialer story drama. It was worth the listen

The story was fast paced and filled with lots of plot twists and turns. I'm not sure why the story did not go back to tell us what happened with the plane crash. Instead the story focused on the back story with how Niles became an assassin. At times he appeared cold and calculated and others he seemed unsure too often. The overall story was good.I did not like the loose ends again!

Paris's story was nice. It's not what I expected. I thought I knew this character, but I was very wrong.. Paris is complex, moody, hot headed and totally sexy.. The story was filled with action and many twist and turns.. I did not like the ending.. I hope the storyline does not end this way. My only complaint.. Rio's voiceover guy was annoying.
