Is there anything you would change about this book?

The narration didn't have as much emotional inflection as I would have hoped for. But, the story didn't present as much opportunity for that either. This is a story I enjoyed more when I was a lot younger. Now, it doesn't have quite enough meat to it.

This is the first story in the Tarzan adventure novels. The legend begins when Tarzan’s parents are placed on a jungle shoreline by mutinous seamen. Here they establish a crude residence and survive for a time until attacked and killed by a band of apes. But one female ape rescues the baby, takes it for her own, and raises it among a large socially organized tribe of great apes. The baby grows to be a noble man whose great strength and keen senses compel the world around him to bend to his might according to the “law of the jungle.”

Would you listen to Tarzan Of The Apes again? Why?

I read this series many years ago when I was a wee tyke. I thoroughly enjoyed it then, and I wondered if it still would be as entertaining for me now. It is indeed, and the reader does a good job which helps make it so. I will listen to this again.

What about David Sharp’s performance did you like?

He has a great accent and it fits the time of the story.
