Quinn MacKenna learns that the cure for a blinding hangover is simple.... Stay in bed, and whatever you do, don’t answer your freaking door. Otherwise, you might find yourself roped into a murder investigation with a psychopath attempting to rewrite the Twelve Days of Christmas as a holiday homicide special, asked to rescue a former international spy, forced to dodge bullets with a Valkyrie, or to take on a power-hungry Fae intent on freezing everything he touches.

We belong to the king - those of us with the black roses tattooed on our left wrist, directly over our pulse. As if every beat of our hearts reminds us that we are not our own. All the women with the fire burning within them are culled, tattooed, and taken to the warriors to provide more energy. Energy that the warriors will then use to defeat the barbarians from the ocean of sand. Women with black roses on their wrists are emptied of their power by those warriors, who care not that they die a shrunken husk.

Love this story. My only complaint is at the beginning it seems like I missed a book. Callie was talking about things that I had no clue what was going on. It seems like these books intertwine with other books, which is ok but I haven’t read the other temple series. I’m reading the whiskey ginger series but it seems like this book is in between the 3rd WG series, which I haven’t yet read since I like finishing a series before starting another. Also, in this book, they talk more about the “Doors”. In the last book, Roland said that the doors lead to the Vatican. And they didn’t want to take the doors when they were both visiting the Vatican so they can investigate early so they took a portal. But this book says Shepherds went thru the door and never came out. That doesn’t match up? Anyways, maybe we are missing a 4.5 book or something. That will explain Callie meeting the WG in Boston and kissing Nate. I have one more book in the series and I’m hoping it’s not the last! But if it is, I hope it ties up lose ends and the relationship with Nate grows more! And not just “talk” at the beginning of the book that doesn’t go into any details! I want deets!

I love the Whisky Ginger series. I started with that series, which only has 2 book, fell IN LOVE with the author. I’m glad I skipped book one of this series went straight to book 2. Otherwise I probably wouldn’t have kept listening. Nicole Poole as always is amazing. One of my top 3 narrators!

I gave book 2 a chance to see if Anna “Strong” matured a little. For being a 30-something year old vampire, she sure is stupid. I seen crap a mile always in fact I was on chapter 5, skipped to the second to last chapter, and still managed to figure out what happened. Anna trusts everyone and anyone other than those close to her. She is naive and dumber than a box of rocks. I know she’s blond but come on. Does the author have so little regard for a TRUE STRONG FEMALE LEAD?! The first book I didn’t like but I wanted to see if Anna grew. The storyline was ok and the narrator was awesome. She just shouldn’t have been made a vampire. Honestly, she shouldn’t have been made a main character.

I’m so confused. This book was choppy and made no sense. Things happened so fast and at random. Also the transition from fat old lady to beautiful young blonde vampire was instant. No questions,no explanations, no “omg what happened”, nothing. Then Lissa accidentally discovered talents like turning into mist because of books, someone got a body guard job for a security guy with a fake ID, found said famous guy in a buried grave, all the while supposedly not giving away that she’s vampire. Lol Then going from Lissa’s POV to other male vampS POV was like going from a 6th graders mind to a kindergartens mind. This book was poorly written and Not Traci Odom’s best work at all. I got to chapter 20 (which surprised even me) and gave up. Just terribly written book.

First off, I did NOT know this was a reverse harem. I hate these books. It seems the UF genre is being taken over by this. Every book is the same. 1 girl, 5 guys, 1 girl 3 guys, shoot there’s one with 1 girl and 10 guys. Please can someone tell me how all these guys are ok with sharing? I’m confused by this. Also you can tell these books have female authors. The writing on the boys (yes not men, BOYS), is juvenile. They sound clingy and stupid. Then the main female lead always ALWAYS has a huge anger problem and growls, and spits, and is “one of the guys”. Omg it is so unoriginal. I hate it. This book is no different. The story line says the female, Sawyer, is strong and a bad ass but she’s anything but. Sure she cusses and the author tries to make her as bad ass as she can make the lead but it falls flat. Go thru you your suggested books on the website, every RH book is the SAME story. Same female lead, same stupid “hunky” men aka boys. Same same same. I wish this book was labeled correctly as I wouldn’t have wasted my dang credit on it.
