the music was too jarring & too loud after the soft voice. It hurt my ears & shocked me. then I would miss the first line. I will say the author did have a great narrator's voice.

narrator worked too hard to be voices that were clearly not in her range. It made the story goofy instead of a mystery to solve. Story was predictable but that's why I bought. Light summer reading. Nothing more.

War and Peace move over. this saga will cover all the reading requirements. War, Adventure, Death, Pilgrimage, Riches, Total Poverty, and most of all Love. The main couple of course, but family, friends, servants showed the depth of feelings all humans have at some very important times in their lives. Very historical, I didn't research on the wars but enjoyed the action studies.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Narrator speaks with such a heavy brog, I couldn't not understand her.

Would you ever listen to anything by Maeve Binchy again?

NO!

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Copper Beech?

The narrator made it too hard to follow the story line.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I was enamored with the story, had a hard time with the parallel plot but when I got into it, it was impossible to put down. had to finish the book. Had to find out what happened to both women. Had to clear up all the loose ends. Crazy plot.

Any additional comments?

the narrator was very clear and easy to hear. This is very important with so many voices to portray.

Would you consider the audio edition of Scandal Wears Satin to be better than the print version?

Story is light hearted romance with a lot of style thrown in. What would you expect from fashionista's of the era?

Any additional comments?

Kate Reading is an excellent story-reader. she has just the right amount of inflection to separate the different characters.
