Herman Wouk's sweeping epic of World War II, which begins with The Winds of War and continues here in War and Remembrance, stands as the crowning achievement of one of America's most celebrated storytellers. Like no other books about the war, Wouk's spellbinding narrative captures the tide of global events - and all the drama, romance, heroism, and tragedy of World War II - as it immerses us in the lives of a single American family drawn into the very center of the war's maelstrom.

Andy McGee and Vicky Tomlinson participated in a drug experiment run by a veiled government agency known as The Shop. One year later, they marry. Two years later, their little girl, Charlie, sets her teddy bear on fire by simply staring at it. Now that Charlie is eight, she doesn't start fires anymore. Her parents have taught her to control her pyrokinesis, the ability to set anything - toys, clothes, even people - aflame. But The Shop knows about and wants this pigtailed "ultimate weapon".

Stephen king is one of my favorites I will read everything he writes but I don't always like his book and stories. I liked this one, I love children with special powers and protective parents. This being said the ending was terrible! I want to know more, I want to know what happens to this little girl, please write a sequel. This book is definitely worth reading.

The narrator mispronounces grimace and albino, so many times I cannot count. It would not bother me so if the author did not love the words. The story overall is wonderful had a bit of everything. What I love most about this series is that there are no clear cut good guys or bad guys, just a series of events that drags everyone through the mud and blood. The humor in this series is literally laugh out loud and at times where logically you should not be laughing but can't help yourself from joining in. I would recommend this to anyone who loves, blood, war and magic and who can stand a few words being slaughtered by the narrator.
