Simon's memoir reveals her remarkable life, beginning with her storied childhood as the third daughter of Richard L. Simon, the co-founder of publishing giant Simon & Schuster; her musical debut as half of The Simon Sisters, performing folk songs with her sister, Lucy, in Greenwich Village; to a meteoric solo career that would result in 13 top 40 hits, including the number-one song "You're So Vain".

I thoroughly enjoyed this trip through time with Carly Simon. I've loved her music for as long as I can remember but really had no clue about the life of Carly Simon. Most of us look on from afar at the lives of famous musicians and think, "wow they must be living the life." We don't realize they have just as much drama, craziness, ups and downs and challenges that us "normal" people do.

This was an awesome glimpse into Carly's life from the time she was very young up to her split with James Taylor. (Wow did I have a crush on him when I was a young teen.)

A bonus is having the audio book read by the author. Having Carly read the book to me was wonderful. Her voice is mellow but engaging. Really enjoyed this book.

When I find a really good book I will often listen to it more than once and find it just as good or even better the second time. This is one of those books! Lots of action, secrets, spies, sleeper cells, horrific plots. In short, all the ingredients for an edge of your seat thriller. Not one I can listen to right before bed!

I enjoy this series about Lady Georgiana Rannoch, 35th in line for the British throne and Cousin to the queen. The characters are quite funny and consistently there is a murder which Lady Georgiana must figure out. This isn't a "heavy duty" thriller. Rather, it's light, funny and overall very entertaining. If you are thinking of downloading this book, start with the first one in the series and listen to all of them!

Technology may be different in 2060 New York, yet the city is still a place of many cultures and great divides. An innocent Nepali girl, 13, lives with her family in a village far enough away from cities that she has never been to a city. She wants to go to "the city" to work as a housemaid, so when her stepfather sends her off with a woman, she believes she is going off to do housework. She's horrified to learn that she has been sold by her stepfather and is now part of the sex trade in India. It's a very sad tale, and although fictionalized it seems likely that this happens to many impoverished young girls.

This book took me a second try to really get interested. I'm so glad I gave it a second try as it turned out to be one of the best books I've found on Audible.

In the beginning of the story, a small girl is all alone on a dock in a place she doesn't recognize. A childless couple takes the girl in and raises her as their own, unaware of her origins. While the story is unfolding, the reader begins to wonder how the women in the story are linked (one in 1913, one in 1975 and one in 2005). By the end of the book all is clear and great mystery is resolved. This was a great listen and I look forward to listening to all of Kate Morton's books. Highly Recommend!

I enjoy the Cedar Cove tv series on Hallmark and found this book an excellent companion. Like most books which make it to TV or movies, there is just enough difference in the plot to make reading the book enjoyable. Very similar in tone to the television series. Light, romantic and fun. Plan to listen to more books in this series.
