The story was really good but the narration is awful. Its narrated by the author, authors should stick to writing and find a great narrator to tell the story.

The bad narration really made it hard to stick with this book and really over shadowed the overall story telling.

A single mother turns up dead at the bottom of the river that runs through town. Earlier in the summer, a vulnerable teenage girl met the same fate. They are not the first women lost to these dark waters, but their deaths disturb the river and its history, dredging up secrets long submerged. Left behind is a lonely 15-year-old girl. Parentless and friendless, she now finds herself in the care of her mother's sister, a fearful stranger who has been dragged back to the place she deliberately ran from - a place to which she vowed she'd never return.

This book was so fractured and predictable. Can't believe its the same writer as Girl on the train. I can only assume that Paula Hawkins was getting pressure from her publisher to come up with another book in a hurry and this was the best she could do.
I could not wait for the book to end.

struggled through this, so slow and too much back and forth.
the book only really gets to the point in hour 10!
Also, not much of a mystery, more like a never ending ruminating Drama. Sad that I'll never get those 11 hours back, however I did put me to sleep at night.

I selected this book based on the rave reviews.
I found the narration annoying and weak, all the male voices sounded the same and was difficult to differentiate between characters.
Due to the split story line the characters personalities where weak and the story became difficult to invest in.
I feel like I wasted a credit as could barely make it to the end.
