Ty is just a normal guy trying to do his best. He’s single, stuck in a dead-end job with the most hateful boss in the universe, and struggling under a mountain of debt. When he witnesses an impossible battle between two superpowered people, every instinct he has tells him to run. Instead, he becomes the owner of a device that can change his life in ways he can barely imagine. All he has to do is survive for long enough to learn how to use it.

I think the author spent too much time pandering to sexual aspects of the book and not enough on the more relevant technical details that would make the book to be more plausible. It’s a shame because the books had great potential.
The narrator did a fine job and kept the book interesting. It would listen to the next book in the series if none of my favorite authors had a new book out at the time.

The most powerful starships ever constructed are gone. Thousands are dead. A fleet is in ruins. The attackers are unknown. The orders are clear: Recover the ships. Bury the bastards who stole them. Lieutenant Abigail Cage never expected to find herself in Hell. As a Highly Specialized Operational Combatant, she was one of the most respected soldiers in the military. Now she's doing hard labor on the most miserable planet in the universe. Not for long.

This book is well narrated by Jeff Hayes. He does another very good job of bringing the characters to life. Since this is the first book in the series, it takes a while to build the characters and create the setting. Still worth it, book really heats up in the last third. Characters are perhaps a little shallow, but may be the result of the writers wanting to hold something back for later.
