Adam Baldwin is an exuberant, talented reader. (Well, he IS an actor.) The story is fast-paced & imaginatively fun. I loved the humorous references to contemporary things such as the TV series Firefly. (Adam acted in that series.) If you're a sensitive liberal with a poor sense of humor, it might not be quite as humorous to you. Thanks for an excellent listen!

>When South African conservationist Lawrence Anthony was asked to accept a herd of "rogue" wild elephants on his Thula Thula game reserve in Zululand, his common sense told him to refuse. But he was the herd's last chance of survival: they would be killed if he wouldn't take them. In order to save their lives, Anthony took them in. In the years that followed he became a part of their family. And as he battled to create a bond with the elephants, he came to realize that they had a great deal to teach him about life, loyalty, and freedom.

Thoroughly enjoyed this well written & well read book. Lawrence Anthony is an amazing conservationist with a remarkable ability to intuit how to connect with his adopted herd of rogue elephants. I was fascinated as the story unfolded. There are plenty of other interesting story lines woven in with the saga of the elephants. I could relate from my experiences with other creatures I have observed & interacted with over the years. (Though much less dramatic!) Lovely story. May his influence continue!

The story pulled me along & kept me interested. Although it is a novel, the topic of ignorant prejudice against the Chinese was very real. I loved how the story unfolded with two timelines & the descendants' lives crossed paths to a resolution. It appealed to my sense of hope! And the fact that there have always been people who went against the mob mentality & known we are all human, despite cultural differences. Unfortunately, sometimes they are few & far between...

A family member was put on the Atkins diet by a doctor for health reasons (not weight loss) and this is an excellent, simple explanation of how to apply the principles of the diet.
Included is a basic shopping list for the first week & a week's list of specific meals. Most of the meals are simple preparation, not recipes, but some easy recipes are included as well.
No exotic ingredients & things that can easily be purchased as organic, which we prefer. Useful book!

In just seven days, you can live in a home that's completely clutter free if you follow the instructions in this book. Many of us come home to houses that have junk on the kitchen table, things on the floor that we trip over, and small items we can never seem to find when we really need them (like those tweezers that are supposed to be in the bathroom drawer). And while you may recognize that it's causing strife in your everyday life, you may not know that it's causing some serious anxiety and stress complications, too.

Concise. Good overview, room by room, for decluttering. I wouldn't tape things inside my cabinet doors as it becomes unsightly over time. There's a putty you can buy that is for hanging posters in dorm rooms. It can be stuck & unstuck & doesn't net surfaces. Thought I'd share. :)
