TGK is, without a doubt, an amazingly well-written author. The passion and pure energy he puts into each and every one of his pieces is almost tangible, and in a way, a turn-on in it's own right.

2015 was an amazing year from TGK, and his stories, as well as his performances, have only improved as time goes on. This essential collection of the best of his work truly encapsulates the range and depth of his pieces. I speak from a point of personal experience, his stories will entertain, seduce, and delight you - and who knows? Maybe even change you for the better. Once you're done drooling over this audiobook and realize that you can't get enough, make sure to check out his Nightly Pleasures Podcast and all of his work on the website, because trust me, you'll want to.

So what are you still doing reading this? Go and buy this - TREAT YO SELF.

( MINOR SPOILERS ) With Night Vale, it's always a shot in the dark as to whether or not the storyline is going to pay off in a satisfying way. Not that it's a bad thing! But in a story where you're investing so many hours in the characters there's only so many loose ends that you can accept. This book managed to walk the line between mystery and closure. I ended up having to listen to it again when I wasn't so concerned about how it was going to end off. All in all, a well-written, long-form WTNV episode (which, by the way, was very nice how they tied the show together with the book). I can't wait for the next installment.

I've come to expect amazing things from The Grey Knight. He's always coming up with something new. But this story - this is something else. It's masterfully done, crafted with care, and astoundingly enjoyable. In fact, thought I have very little memory left on my phone, this is one I just can't take off. I listen again and again. There's something about his narration that differs from the usual audios in the best way possible. Highly recommended.

The very best of first-person cowboy erotica, where I say exactly what I'm going to do to you. No matter if it's riding lessons or teaching you the ropes (lassos), you'll be turned on, turned up, and ready to play. Oh yes, you will, oh yes, you will.

I remember my mother reading me this when I was younger. I honestly didn't even remember how dark this book is until I decided to get it with my monthly credit. This book is, as always, a classic. It's dark but true to nature and it doesn't shy away from the harder to swallow truths in life. Parents be warned; this is not a cute bunny book (neither is the movie) However I will read it to my kids when I have them as soon as they are old enough.

Code Name Verity is a compelling, emotionally rich story with universal themes of friendship and loyalty, heroism and bravery. Two young women from totally different backgrounds are thrown together during World War II: one a working-class girl from Manchester, the other a Scottish aristocrat, one a pilot, the other a wireless operator. Yet whenever their paths cross, they complement each other perfectly and before long become devoted friends. But then a vital mission goes wrong....

I have a thing for historical-themed books. Especially WW2 books. I also have a special place in my heart for books that make me cry. And this one did. A lot.

It's a beautiful story about two friends during WW2, just trying their best to help the war efforts and survive. But there's a twist: it's told from the point of one of the friends, as she writes a confession for the Gestapo. Instead of writing about herself, she writes from her friend's perspective. The take on the story is incredibly fascinating and beautifully written.

I have recommended this to many friends and will continue to do so. I laughed and cried and generally had the ride of my life on the emotional roller coaster that every good book should be your ticket for.

In the heat of the moment, I used my monthly credit on this book. I hadn't heard much about it, and had only the reviews on here to go by. I didn't even realize it was narrated by Jim Dale, but that turned out to be a pleasant surprise. I usually don't like books that are focused on romance, but I decided to make an exception for this book. I was not disappointed.

The best part was probably the amazing writing and descriptions. I felt as if I was walking into the tents themselves. I love wordy, descriptive writing that takes its time. If this is not your style then this book is not for you. However I believe your opinion is wrong.

The second best part is the characters of Poppet, Widget, and Bailie. I loved them and actually wished the whole story could have been about them. They were interesting and fun and that is the best way for a side character to be.

Parents be warned there is a little bit of light cussing and one steamy scene. And magic, if you're against that type of book. However, I thought it was actually somewhere along the lines of a lower PG-13 movie. Nothing too objectionable.

Plus, Jim Dale could read the phone book and it would be fantastic!

All in all it's a 4-star book that I have recommended to many of my friends.

Eff was born a thirteenth child. Her twin brother, Lan, is the seventh son of a seventh son. This means he's supposed to possess amazing talent - and she's supposed to bring only bad things to her family and her town. Undeterred, her family moves to the frontier, where her father will be a professor of magic at a school perilously close to the magical divide that separates settlers from the beasts of the wild. With wit and wonder, Patricia Wrede creates an alternate history of westward expansion that will delight fans of both J. K. Rowling and Laura Ingalls Wilder.

Where does Thirteenth Child rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Highly! It was a fun read, easy to follow and the characters were so likable, even when you got mad at them.

Who was your favorite character and why?

William, or Eff. I like them both and I like the relationship they share. William seems to keep Eff grounded and she keeps him on his toes. It seems so realistic.

What about Amanda Ronconi’s performance did you like?

At first I was a little bothered by her voice, but as I listened I came to love it! I think the problem was that I came into the book with absolutely no idea of what kind of story it was, so the whole western thing threw me off a bit. So at first her accent seemed weird, but then made sense. I took one star off, but her performance was really a 4 1/2, because some of the voices she did sounded very similar.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I loved the way that the world itself was constructed. I was a bit disconcerted, trying to figure out what was going on, like a blind person in the dark. But once I got my "night sight" and fell into the rhythm of the story, I loved it.

Any additional comments?

I would recommend this book to anyone! I read a comment somewhere else and unfortunately don't know who said it, but someone had mentioned that this book is like a blending of "Little House on the Prarie" and "Harry Potter" and I would say that is an extremely accurate description. So if you're a fan of both, go ahead and try it!
