What the publisher says: "In her years of being a sleuth, Sabrina Carlson has rarely been this puzzled. She keeps asking herself, who would murder a car salesman in broad daylight? During happy hour, no less. It was a bold act. And one that will take some serious investigating to get to the bottom of. Just when Sabrina believes she might be on the right track, a series of wild twists threaten to turn the case upside down. Will Sabrina be able to cut through the layers of deception and catch the killer in time? Find out by getting a copy of The Happy Hour Murder right now!"
What I say:
This book was a fun, quick read, I love listening to books so I don't have to make time to sit and read, and while recovering from my son's wedding and cleaning house, this kept my mind busy!

Raven is a witch I wouldn't mess with. Very strong, no damsel in distress here! Hooked from the first line, and the narrator is wonderful. I enjoyed all of the books written by Lawrence, and will continue to be a fan! No naughty stuff, a little swearing, so clean in that regard. Grab this one and enjoy a nice summer read that will leave you wanting more!

Okay. If you do not have parents, friends, teachers, or anyone, that give you the advice given to you in this book, then this is the book for you. I was taught these things when I was in high school, all except the networking part since it was called schmoozing at that time. Other than that, this book is really just the normal, everyday advice we all give our kids and learn from others in our normal day-to-day life. Network, use your contacts to keep in the know about job openings, stuff like that. It is really basic, common sense and what worked for the author may not work for anyone else. Hard work, dedication, making yourself stand out in the crowd as well as who you know are important, but the best advice I can give is going into the interview with KNOWLEDGE of the company. if you have landed an interview anywhere here are the steps:
1. Make 5 to 6 copies of your resume to take with you, in case multiple interviewers are present, so you can present a copy to each.
2. Write down questions YOU want to ask the interviewer. And take the sheet with you! (A good interviewer will ask if you have any questions and here is your time to shine. make the questions about the specific company, such as what is their mission statement, or comment on how the mission statement aligns with your ethics, morals and mention how you fit within the organization.)
3. Dress WELL. I cannot state this enough. It does not matter if you are applying at a fast-food restaurant or for a corporate office position. Dress and groom as if you are your way to go see the president. Check your shoes, it really makes a difference! Wear a nice, but not overpowering, scent. Make sure your nails, hair, and beard are well-groomed. It is the way they will see you and will make a judgment, even if just subconsciously, and they are imagining how you will represent the company. Showing up in shorts or flip-flops is a definite no-no, in every single circumstance.
4. Imagine the questions they may ask of you and PREPARE for them. What are your strengths? Weakness? The best examples of customer service you have ever received/provided? Do not walk into a situation where you are seen as thinking on the spot. If you prepare and take the time to express knowledge of the company, even if to say "I always interact wit this company and am so impressed with the service I receive, I want to be a part of the team" will make a huge impact and show the interviewer you actually have a reason to want to be there, and you will stand out from the crowd because of that.
5. Relax and remain calm. It is stressful enough on the big day, knowing you may have bills to pay, a wife and kids to support, or just need money to buy that favorite special something, but nerves often get the best of us and it is projected to the employer. And it may be perceived that you are hiding something. Do not sit before being asked to do so. Do not ask for water or any other drink, if it is offered, accept with a thank you. Show the interviewer you are mannered and humble. Do not ever cross your arms or sit in a defensive manner. Again, body language is also extremely important. Eye contact is super important but do not intimidate with a stare that seems to be trying to burn out their brain with it. A simple glance here and there, more of a focus on the mouth, will suffice. Smile as much as you can without overdoing it or appearing fake and weird. Do not go into an interview drunk, or after using drugs, and for goodnes’s sake, do NOT smoke before the interview, as cig smoke is super offensive and can even trigger allergies in some people, and NO, mints do NOT cover up the smell on your clothes, hands or your hair. So do everyone a favor and deal with withdrawal for a while If getting a job is important, you do not want to walk in the room and before getting a chance to even interview you turn them off and make them want to get out of the room as fast as they can.
With these tips, you will be able to do more to get a job than any advice offered in this book.

As my own real-life sister and niece were kidnapped and murdered, I feel this story was written just for me. It brings me comfort to read this type of story, with someone one the case to relate to. This story has a sister searching for her missing sister, and the psychic who is helping her turns up dead, so now the sister has 2 unsolved mysteries to look into. Just love this author, her writing always makes me happy, and she is an awesome person in real life because I signed up for her newsletters and she always takes time to talk to her fans and answers questions. Just an overall win-win... I am an ARC/beta reader for her for life if she will keep me, 😊
