I listen to a ton of audiobooks, on average 2 a week. This book was the best for me this year. She is hillarious, but she is also hugely inspiring. There were numerous times while listening to the book that I had some major insights into my life. I highly recommend this book.

In this irresistibly imagined belowstairs answer to Pride and Prejudice, the servants take center stage. Sarah, the orphaned housemaid, spends her days scrubbing the laundry, polishing the floors, and emptying the chamber pots for the Bennet household. But there is just as much romance, heartbreak, and intrigue downstairs at Longbourn as there is upstairs. When a mysterious new footman arrives, the orderly realm of the servants’ hall threatens to be completely, perhaps irrevocably, upended.

Longbourn was very well written, beautiful prose, compelling characters. I couldn't stop listening to it and the narrator made it that much better. I listen to a lot of books and she is one of the best narrators I have heard (as good as Davina Porter, but younger sounding). Longbourn is a must read or rather listen as the case may be.

When the world ends, can love survive? For Scarlet, raising her two daughters alone means fighting for tomorrow is an everyday battle. Nathan has a wife, but can't remember what it's like to be in love; only his young daughter Zoe makes coming home worthwhile. Miranda's biggest concern is whether her new VW Bug is big enough to carry her sister and their boyfriends on a weekend escape from college finals. When reports of a widespread, deadly "outbreak" begin to surface, these ordinary people face extraordinary circumstances and suddenly their fates are intertwined.

I was not impressed with this book. I didn't like that major characters were killed off in the middle of the book before their story played out. It felt like you got all involved in some character and their life and their issues and then they were just abruptly killed, which totally left you hanging. The ending also came rather abruptly as the author tried to wrap everything up neatly, into some sort of happy ending. The only problem was it wasn't a very happy ending, and the fact that the characters are happy seems odd considering their circumstances.

I did love the narrator for Nathan, he was amazing. I also liked the narrator for Miranda. The narrator for Scarlet was not so good, which is unfortunate as she reads a large portion of the book.

Lottie just knows that her boyfriend is going to propose during lunch at one of London’s fanciest restaurants. But when his big question involves a trip abroad, not a trip down the aisle, she’s completely crushed. So when Ben, an old flame, calls her out of the blue and reminds Lottie of their pact to get married if they were both still single at 30, she jumps at the chance. No formal dates - just a quick march to the altar and a honeymoon on Ikonos, the sun-drenched Greek island where they first met years ago. Their family and friends are horrified. Fliss, Lottie’s older sister, knows that Lottie can be impulsive - but surely this is her worst decision yet.

I found this book got a little boring at times, I really could have taken a little more drama. There was a long period of time when Kierra and Kellan's relationship is described, but it was just everyday stuff. I found myself really waiting for something (anything) to happen. I just loved the first book, but this book was a bit of a yawner for me.
