Michael Kage Santori has just inherited a thriving hotel and millions of dollars. He’s poised to become an MMA champion. Things couldn’t be better between him and his college boy lover, Jamie Atwood - especially in the bedroom, where Jamie is more than eager to let Kage take out his aggressions on him. Kage seems to have it all, but success and happiness have come at a steep price. After all of the childhood trauma he endured at the hands of his controlling uncle, Peter Santori, it’s a miracle Kage has any shred of sanity left. And now, because of him, Jamie is a murderer.

I was waiting for this to come on Audible and it exceeded my expectations in every way! I wasn’t sure how the story of Kage and Jamie could get better, but it has. Now there are new/old characters the we get to meet and the story kept me on the edge of my seat.

Thank you Maris Black!

By definition, a sadist is one who receives sexual gratification from causing pain and degradation to another. That's me, to a T. I only play with those who understand what it means; those who are willing to indulge my devious desires. Any masochist who seeks me out knows that if they trespass, I will gladly shatter them and walk away, leaving them for someone else to put back together. Yet the cowboy and the pretty boy have given themselves to me. They have agreed to play by my rules and there is only one: There are no rules.

The sexy times were perfect for me. There was enough plot to keep it going but the narrator for Zeek was distracting because a real person would never talk like that. One other piece of friendly advice to the author, the word “however” is rarely used in spoken words and that word was used almost every “page.” It is still with the credit with a few rough edges.

Ranch hand Roe Davis absolutely never mixes business with pleasure - until he runs into his boss, Travis Loving, at the only gay bar within 200 miles. Getting involved with the ranch owner is a bad idea, but Roe's and Travis's bedroom kinks line up against one another like a pair of custom-cut rails. As long as they're both clear this is sex on the side, no relationship, no interfering with the job, they could make it work

This is one of the more interesting plots for this genre I have read. Great characters and hard to ‘put down’. I agree with other reviewers that the narrator is just okay, but he doesn’t detract from the experience at all. I think I am just spoiled with the amazing narrators out there now that are more actors than readers. I am very picky about narrators and this book is definitely worth the credit. It would have been amazing with the right narrator though.

If you like incendiary passion this is not the book for you. It has a different storyline which might be interesting if you are tired of the typical tropes. I foumd it somewhat tame. Anytime a character is involved in an inner monologue during sex, about something unrelated to the sex, the sex isn’t being done right. I don’t think I have ever pondered the universe during sex, unless I just wasn’t into it. For me, this was a little disappointing. It may get more interesting as the book goes on, but I stopped listening about an hour in.

Well, I like this author and narrator but this is a miss. There is lots of sex, which I like, but the sex scenes were repetitive. ‘On you knees,’ BJ and done, over and over. If you are looking for BDSM, what you will get is kneeling. The word submission and shiver was repeated on almost every page.

If you are looking for a light, sexy read this is not it. The narrator was okay but he really should have been reading a Disney book. There is no real chemistry, it was all about the plot. I would have told Levi’s family to F themselves after the first family meeting. Jamie is so tentative and “broken” it got old. The details of the Mormon religion were interesting. If you are into the romance overcoming adversity, this probably works, it is just not my thing.
