While struggling to attain the faith she never had amid the dark world she's hurled into, Nevaeh searches for a way to get George's soul back without damning herself. Will she or won't she??? I found myself pondering that question in one way or another throughout the entire book! LOL Will she choose light? Will she choose dark? Will she save those she loves or will she fail? Will she hook up with this guy or will she pass? What about her guardian? The story is filled with action and is well written. The narrator does a pretty good job handling all of the different characters and making them distinguishable. In my opinion, Falter is well worth the listen! The gods walk among us. And they just might steal your soul...or your heart. I thought I'd survived everything life could throw at me. All I wanted was to keep my distance from the criminals I work for and get my little brother out of the hell that is our mother's house. Then I died and woke up to four stunningly hot gods telling me I'm now a valkyrie. Sly, sharp Loki. Jovial but ferocious Thor. Dreamily compassionate Baldur. Grim and secretive Hod. They all have something to teach me. And around them, my walls start to crack. But the gods didn't summon me just for kicks.

This book was great! I loved how strong Lana was, and Sully, oh my! The story is well written, characters are likeable, both main and supporting. Although it's 4th in a series, you don't have to read the others to understand and enjoy this one. The only drawback, however minimal, was the narration. There was so little variation between characters I found myself a bit lost at times. It also almost seemed like the narrator switched part way through, which was weird. When I sped the playback up to 135 it helped. Aside from that, this was a great book! I received a free copy of this book, and am voluntarily leaving this unbiased review.

Stella Lane thinks math is the only thing that unites the universe. She comes up with algorithms to predict customer purchases - a job that has given her more money than she knows what to do with as well as way less experience in the dating department than the average 30-year-old. It doesn't help that she has Asperger's and that French kissing reminds her of a shark getting its teeth cleaned by pilot fish. She decides that she needs lots of practice - with a professional - which is why she hires escort Michael Phan.

Something about the writer's style, coupled with the fantastic narration really made me feel warm inside, like I was hanging out with good friends every time I turned it on. Sound crazy? LOL I can't think of another way to put it. I loved all of the characters, and as I mentioned before, the narration was fantastic. Well worth a listen!

This book is written from an interesting concept. Our main character was sold into prostitution at a very early age by a drug addicted husband. After years of suffering through that life she randomly finds a newborn baby abandoned in an alley and even though she can't take care of herself, AT ALL, and is brutalized by her pimp regularly, she decides the baby is hers and sets about keeping it. This sets a chain of events in motion that change her life forever. That's my synopsis. I find the concept interesting, I really do, but in my opinion, the book reads kind of clunky. There are a lot of instances where contractions could have been used but weren't which made the telling come across as unrealistic and pulled me out of the story more times than I can count. Of course that's just my opinion and based off of other reviews it may just be me that was bothered by it. Overall, the story was interesting and I still think worthy of a read. Just be warned if you're a grammar Nazi that it gets a little rough. I received a free copy of this book at my request and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Just finished listening to this and it was pretty good. It has a solid love story, some angst, and a little bit of tension, but more than anything it really focused on the relationship between the two main characters which is definitely not all sunshine and roses. I liked the narrator's voice alot, my only complaint being that he didn't really switch up his voice between the main characters when they weren't physically speaking so if they were having thoughts, etc it was easy to lose just which character it was. Other than that he was great. I would like to hear him in other novels. overall, a pretty good read. I received this book for free at my request and am leaving this honest review.

This was a nice way to spend a day. The writing is nice, the narration is nice, the characters are nice, the setting is nice... there is nothing earth shattering about the book, but sometimes that's, well, nice! Will your world shift on its axis after listening? No, probably not. Will you be sorry you took the time to listen? No, probably not that either. I liked it, and feel it's worth a listen.
