Betrayed by the man she thought she loved and the agency that turned her into the very thing she fought against, Peri abandoned the wealth and privilege of Opti for anonymity riddled with memory gaps and self-doubt. But when a highly addictive drug promises to end her dependency on those who'd use her as a tool for their own success, she must choose to remain broken and vulnerable or return to the above-the-law power and prestige she once left.

I thought the first book in the series was really slow. This book was the same. No real action and overall the plot and characters are boring.
I thought the narrator did well with the material she had.

It was just another after-work happy-hour bar downtown, where business professionals unwound with a few drinks, complained about the boss, maybe hooked up with someone for the night. Until something went terribly wrong. At first it was just a friction in the air. The noise intensified. The crowd seemed oppressive. Some sharp words were exchanged, some pushing and shoving. Then the madness descended. And after 12 minutes of chaos and violence, 80 people lay dead.

Any additional comments?

Since I've listened to all of these books, its a given I enjoy them. There wasn't much new as far as characters and the plot was familiar. I'd love it if the author would add new and different twists to this series.

A fairly fast paced book with good characters and an unusual, but entertaining plot. I really enjoyed listening and thought the narrator did a good job.

I bought this on one of the specials Audible offers and was really glad I did. It was a fast paced book I really enjoyed. I'd read more by this author and that's the highest praise I can give.

A music therapist who thrives on helping others, Kendra Michaels cherishes the ordinary life she has achieved after stem cell surgery restored her sight. The skills she perfected during those sightless years - the ability to pick up the most subtle audio, olfactory, and tactile cues in the world around her - coupled with her laser-sharp mind - have made her a uniquely potent observer and problem solver. Kendra’s uncanny way of connecting the dots is as baffling to law enforcement as it is legendary.

What was most disappointing about Iris Johansen and Roy Johansen ’s story?

This is a very slow book. The narrator did a good job with the story but I believe this is one of the weakest books written by the Johansens.
