What disappointed you about Kaleidoscope?

Too much sex and use of naughty words. I don't usually mind them. Over kill.

What could Kristen Ashley have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Not make Dex so bossy.

Did Emma Taylor do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Yes

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Kaleidoscope?

About 3/4 of the sex scenes.

Any additional comments?

Boring

Jeannette Walls's memoir The Glass Castle was "nothing short of spectacular" ( Entertainment Weekly). Now, in Half Broke Horses, she brings us the story of her grandmother, told in a first-person voice that is authentic, irresistible, and triumphant.

What made the experience of listening to Half Broke Horses the most enjoyable?

The writer tells a wonderful story of her grandmother's life and a lot of interesting history of Arizona.

What did you like best about this story?

I like the way the author told a true story without it being an autobiography. Very, very clever.

Have you listened to any of Jeannette Walls’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

The Glass Castle is a must read (listen) after Half Broke Horses. I had listen to it before, but when back and listened again, with a different presective. I LOVE JEANNETTE WALL'S WORK.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

WORK HARD OR DIE

Any additional comments?

Jeannette Walls is right up there with some of the greats like Stephen King and James Patterson.

When we first meet 14-year-old Susie Salmon, she is already in heaven. In the sweet, untroubled voice of a precocious teenage girl, Susie relates the awful events of her death and her own adjustment to the strange new place where she finds herself. With love, longing, and a growing understanding, Susie watches her family as they cope with their grief. This story of seemingly unbearable tragedy is transformed into a suspenseful and touching narrative about family, memory, love, heaven, and living.

If you have had a recent death of a close loved one, hold off on this book. I tried shortly after I lost my brother and it just freaked me out. Several months later I went back to it and loved it. What a great way to tell a tale of rape and murder; from the victim herself.

Mason "Mace" Perry was a firebrand cop on the D.C. police force until she was kidnapped and framed for a crime. She lost everything-her badge, her career, her freedom-and spent two years in prison. Now she's back on the outside and focused on one mission: to be a cop once more. Her only shot to be a true blue again is to solve a major case on her own, and prove she has the right to wear the uniform.
