Indulge, slip away to Ruin Mist! In the Service of Dragons is the continuation of Robert Stanek's multilayered epic fantasy adventure that began with The Kingdom and the Elves of the Reaches, Books 1-4. In that acclaimed series, Stanek introduced us to the story of Ruin Mist, an extraordinary world of magic, adventure, and intrigue. In this eagerly awaited follow-up, he once again proves himself a wonderful storyteller with a gift for fast pacing and believable storylines.

Well read, well written with charactors that have depth and relationships that are realistic. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for some great fantasy tales. I absolutly love this book. I found to be fast paced, but with all the necessary details. Everything about this book and the others was perfect.

With a repertoire of comic expressions, Buster invites readers to join with him and his pals (which include a ladybug, a beatle and a caterpillar) as he goes to school for the first time. He meets his new teacher and learns about shapes. As he's somewhat jealous of the smart girl he dreams of being a solitary bee and eating honey all day. In the end, he decides he'd rather be just who he is and he goes off to play with his friends.

This is the story of Despereaux Tilling, a mouse in love with music, stories, and a princess named Pea. It is also the story of a rat called Roscuro, who lives in darkness but covets a world filled with light. And it is the story of Miggery Sow, a slow-witted serving girl with a simple, impossible wish. These characters are about to embark on a journey that will lead them down into a horrible dungeon, up into a glittering castle, and ultimately, into each other's lives.

After the Great War that divided the peoples, the kingdoms of men plunged into a Dark Age that lasted 500 years. To heal the lands and restore the light, the great kings decreed that magic and all that is magical, be it creature, man, or device, shall be cleansed to dust. The cleansing raged for so long that no human could recall a time without it and it is in this time that the Dark Lord Sathar returned from the dark beyond.

Shame on fans of other authors who keep giving this book poor marks! This book without question has excellent narration and is very well written. I enjoyed the story from beginning to end and couldn't wait for more. The entire series is terrific and exceptionally well done. I love how the author weaves mysteries and intrigues into the action and adventure. This book is better than anything else I've read or listened to in a long, long time.

Bravo Robert Stanek on a job well done. You have an amazing gift for writing characters cut from whole cloth and stories that are a cut above. I'm a huge new fan of your work and can't wait to start In the Service of Dragons now that I've finished all four Kingdoms and the Elves of the Reaches.
