I am a big fan of Z.A. Maxfield. I fell in love with ZAM's writing with THE PHARAOH'S CONCUBINE. And then was completely snagged with the ST NACHO'S Series.
This book is also excellent, but there was so much darkness in it, mostly likely because so many of characters in it were badly damaged.
I admit to feeling slightly uncomfortable with the BDSM scenes, but that was nicely balanced when Dare made love with Finn after being bound by Finn with rope and surrendering completely. (Was that Kinbaku? Sounded like it... Yummy!)
I digress... I felt so much for the Bill character and was glad to hear he was going to make it. My heart broke during his various scenes with Finn, even though I understood why they were written that way. They demonstrated his brokenness so completely. It would be interesting to read about his journey to his own HEA. (Hint HInt!)
Aunt Liddy was amazing! I think Shannon Gunn did a fantastic job with her. His voices for the various characters were really good. Felt chills run down my spine and tears prickle my eyes, when he sounded out the grief and tears for Finn in those incredible scenes with Aunt Liddy and with Bill.
But, the erotic scenes... I got the feeling Mr Gunn got carried away, just a smidgen. A more nuanced performance there would have gone a long way.
All in all, the 11+ hours were worth it for me. Thanks for this one, ZAM!

What a fantastic experience!

This was such a wonderful read/listen/ride!
Both MCs were believable and realistic, and it was a joy to take their journeys of self growth along with them.
JOEL LESLIE IS BRILLIANT!!!!!! He made the characters come alive. Thank you for choosing him to narrate this tale.
Marshall Thornton, thanks for sharing this story with us.
I highly recommend this audiobook. You won't be disappointed.

This is an incredible story of love, healing, self-acceptance. In the beginning, I wasn't sure I wanted to stick with it, but I am so glad I did. The unfolding relationship between the MCs was beautiful to watch. Roe's POV was brilliantly rendered by Iggy Toma. The way he narrated most things in a matter of fact way -- especially the sex parts -- spoke powerfully. That showed the strong emotional and psychological undercurrents much better than if they had been delivered with exact emotion the moments were describing. The voice he used for Travis was perfect. Iggy Toma is more than a brilliant narrator; he brings the story alive for you in a way many others could not have. Thank you, Heidi Cullinan, for writing this. There were parts that could have got very preachy, but the balance was just right. This was an amazing experience, one I am very happy to have had.

An exquisite journey!

This is a powerful narrative about two people who, despite being broken and unsure of themselves, find each other create something beautiful between them. The writing is highly evocative -- you feel everything they do. If you are wrestling with similar demons, you just might find some closure, or perhaps move closer to peace. Emma Scott, thank you for writing this. You are phenomenal!

I loved this sequel to NEW LIFE. I love how Bonnie Dee dealt with this romance. It is so easy for us to think that someone who has been through the kind of physical trauma Jason has, should be written off. We assume that only those of us who are physically and mentally perfect are entitled to have love and romance, and dream of marriage and the whole shebang. Bonnie Dee, thanks for writing such a moving series, and dealing with this issue in such a respectful and realistic manner. Parts of it reminded me of that movie REGARDING HENRY starring Harrison Ford and Annette Benning -- an eye-opening piece that showed how fragile life is, and how we should cherish each and every day with our loved ones... the way Jason and Anna learned to cherish each other. Five stars all the way from me!!!!

Thank you J.D. Burrows for writing this. It was honest, open -- at times painful -- but beautifully done. I hope every parent who reads this will wake up and work hard to protect the innocence of their little ones -- boys and girls. Let our children be children, for a as long as they can be. Give them the strong foundation they need so they can be healthy, well adjusted adults.

This has been a very enlightening course. Please note that there was NO AUDIO FOR SEVERAL CHAPTERS, namely 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21. Please fix this as soon as possible. I would like to hear the content from those chapters, as well.

This was a very clever adaptation of the Princess in the Tower fairy tale. Even the evil "stepmother" character (Martha) was slightly sympathetic towards the end. The tragedy of the two lives that were trapped for so long -- all those wasted years -- was, at times, too much to bear. The constancy of the Helen character was incredibly refreshing. The growth of Clara throughout was beautiful to watch.

When I began listening to this story, I had no idea it would have ended the way it did. It was quite the journey, living the heart rending experience of realising that one's spouse was cheating on one. I felt the pain in each word shared. The author wrote as though she had lived it, or at least was close to people who had, and walked with them as they did. At times I felt like a voyeur into these people's lives... That's how great the writing is. Thank you, Taylor Jenkins Reid for sharing this story. Brilliant work!
